Chris,
You walk a fine line between insult and inspiration. Knowing you the way I do, I take everything you say as encouragement. We are looking at a high of 65 on Saturday. I'm starting to feel really good about a 10 min. PR. I might have to break out the gloves.
Your '07 Boston time was a new PR correct? If you already started in corral 1 there's no way you are moving back next year. I, on the other hand, have room to improve. Hopefully that means that I won't have to run a as far catch up to you
. I'm thinkin' you should start looking over your shoulder around Ashland.<HR>
Some are inspired by insults - so I let them fly! I would LOVE to need some gloves on Sat - that would be sweet. I'd be happy with a starting temp in the 60's so low 50's would be manna from heaven.
Boston '07 was 2 minutes slower than my PR - I'm probably right on the cusp between corrals right now, so I hope to make it all a moot point first at Air Force and then at NYC!
Not sure if you were going to run the first 2-4 miles with the 3:10 pacer - if memory serves he started out a little crazy fast last year and ended up toast by 17/18 (I think he rolled in around 3:17). If you've not done AF before, wait until you come down the backside of the big hill at 2 to start getting on pace and then really start picking it up after 8-10 miles to take advantage of a) feeling fresh, b) flat section of the course, c) the still-cool temps of the morning before it starts to warm up, and d) your kick *** training the last few months! It's sparse enough in the front of the pack that I usually start counting the # of people I pass after mile 8 or 10 and try to see how many I can get. That's always helped me at Air Force for some reason - one year I got over 50!
I'll look for you at the start line - good luck!
