C25K Week 8

Hello people!

My Account was not carried over :( But got my name back so all good!

Anyone doing week 8 this week?

Last week I was meant to be but I was away on business for three days, then ill for a few days afterwards, not good. But I went for a run yesterday - I had week 8 of Ullreys podcast already uploaded to the ipod so I ran as long as I could, i expected to last about 10 minutes but i did all 28 minutes!!!!

Sure I was slow towards the end but couldn't belive I did it, made me feel like a real runner, and that I could do anything :^0

I will be calling this week 8 so others who are just comming up - welcome! :)

Re: C25K Week 8

Hi iainr....

I'm in Week 8, yesterday I completed D2 W8, I had one failed attempt at D2 the day before and only completed 20 minutes of that run. Yesterday was a success, however.

My log is lost too, it sounds like the same thing happened to you as it did me. My screen name was still available so I just signed up again and lost all the other info. :(

Good luck on your next run, mine will be tomorrow.

Re: C25K Week 8

My transition went OK I guess. It associated an old coolrunning account with my e-mail address but that is fine. I guess from now on I will be known as the Coolrunning user formally known as mevaniuck.

Well, due to the transition I was not able to post about my W7 but I did fine. Actually my W7D3 was on Saturday and it went better then any 25min day I have ran. I am looking forward to W8 and my first day is tomorrow.

Iainr, are you planning on running a 5K after Wk9? do you have any plans yet on how you will progress after we have to say goodbye to Robert Ullrey?

I "finished" week 9 on saturday but I'm repeating it for a few weeks starting next week (hurt my foot so resting up a bit). I was dougj on the old forum, for some reason my account didn't get transferred.

happy running everyone.

Yeah, good luck with week 8 everyone. It's really good to be this far along the c25k scheme.
I finished week 8 on saturday and did W9D1 today, if I do finish this week I'll miss being able to look at the weeks ahead in relation to my C25K progress!

Re: C25K Week 8
I totally agree. I've enjoyed the feeling of satisfaction at reaching the end of a week, especially when I would worry at the start of the week that it would not be possible to run the time. I think I'll try and come up with a chart to follow for the next few weeks. I was thinking about the OHR program, but I haven't looked at in detail, and if the aim is to be running 1 hour 3 times a week, I don't think I will realistically have the time each week. If you come up with a cunning program then let us know!

Good luck with your week 8, isn't it amazing to be running for what seemed like such an impossible length of time just a few weeks ago?!

Hi again to doug and barb, good luck with it all this week.

Re: C25K Week 8

W8D1 down. The run went very well. Today it was misting outside and is suppose to rain later today. We do not get snow and all the other winter weather issues. I feel if some of the folks on this forum can get out in the snow and run who am I to complain about a little misty fog.

Anyways, hope the rest of you all have a good week 8. Cajnrunner, it is nice to see you made it to the other (active) side.

BTW - I was pretty tough on active yesterday about the changes that were made to coolrunning.com. Now I am thinking I was a little harsh on them and just need ot give them a chance to finish the cutover.

Re: C25K Week 8
Well I as well made the transition, not easily but I made it. As for week 7 I ran the first day with my shuffle and Mr. Ullery and then I decided that I was going to go for the 2.5 miles instead of 25 minutes. I fell that I did better on D2/D3 with out the headphones. So when I start W8 tomorrow I am going to go with the headphones for the first day just to see where I am at and them D2/D3 I am going to forget about them. Good luck all and lets keep running.

Re: C25K Week 8
Happy Tuesday everyone,
Good luck to everyone, we sure have progressed, I still remember week 1 and that was 2 months ago. Today I completed my third successful 28 minute run!! It was easy and I kept trying to talk myself into quitting, what a mental game I play, but I kept going. I run pretty slow, most of the run was at 4.9 with an 1.5 incline on the treadmill. I live in the country in Wisconsin and I am not about to fight the ice and snow, plus all the cars on the county roads, so I will stick on the treadmill until spring. There's a lot to say about the comfort of your own home!! I had a little discomfort with my hip today, that's a first. I know I'm not a spring chicken and I can expect a few aches now and then, I just don't know what to watch for so I don't do any permanent injury to my hip.

Iniar, you are a real runner!!!

Hello Cajnrunner, Michael and all!! Good luck on your runs. It's nice to read about others going through the same journey as you.

Re: C25K Week 8

Sadly I think we have lost Cajnrunner to runningahead.com. Just saw a post from them over there. Wish people would just give the new format a chance.

For me tomorrow is day 2 and I am doing great. Wow, five more training days left. I have been able to keep my plantar fasciitis under control but with lots of ice and ibuprofen.
