Gaiters

Does anyone out there use gaiters for their trail runs? No matter if I run 2 or 10+ miles I almost always get debris in my shoe. I don't see many people with them.?.? For those who don't wear them, what do you do about trail debris getting in your shoes? For those who do, what kind do you use and are they comfortable?

Thanks,

Re: Gaiters
yeah, I go with Dirty Girls as well ( I guess that could be
taken the wrong way). I usually only wear them
in races however, unless I know I'll be doing at least 20 miles
on a ratty trail.

Re: Gaiters
But if you're really not into the wild colors of Dirty Girl Gaiters, the equivalent in dull colors can be found at:

Re: Gaiters
I use the old Outdoor Research gaitors made of nylon. They're not quite as sleek as Dirty Girls or Joe Trailman's, but they work fine. I got mine from www.campmor.com.[/URL" target="_blank">

Re: Gaiters
I just bought a pair of Inov-8 Debris Socks from the reps who were at my race last weekend (Pineland Farms Trail Challenge). I wish I had them during the race but didn't pick them up until after. The course was dry but after running through freshly cut grass and various trail surfaces for nearly 5 hours I had a lot of junk in my shoes. I wore the Debris Socks - combination of sock and gaiter in one - on my "recovery" run a few days later and found that they were very comfortable and did a good job of keeping my shoes free from debris. I'll stick with my OR gaiters for the real messy wet trails but the Inov-8 socks are a great new product for general trail use.
