Is a truce possible?

OK, I have to admit that I've enjoined the atmosphere here lately. (Maybe, as the moderator of the Clubhouse, I like to see if anyone can compete with our level of sheer hostility.) But, in the best interest of the forum, I wonder if the adversaries might be able to come to some kind of an understanding. Suppose, the two sides could agree to something like this:

Opponents of Galloway let the advocates have their way in promoting the system, and agree not to start any more threads bashing it.

Supporters of the method agree not to start threads accusing opponents of being hateful, elitist, fascist, or having other nefarious motivations.

Just wondering.

Or just turn the CW forum into the hellhole that is this forum and call it even.

I choose the latter.

Moderators where are you? The CH has spilled out into several other forums (not just the Galloway forum) and the level of discourse on CR the past several days has been worse than grade school!

Except that 'calling it even' does not make it even. It just makes you a very bad (as in 'not very good at it') troll. Or puppet as the case may be.

For the first time in a week, an actual moderator of coolrunning has made an appearance to suggest something that makes sense. In fact, it is one of the ONLY things that makes sense.

This is progress. It would worthwhile for us to consider a truce. Anything else just drives away users and delays worthwhile conversation about running.

Actually, I think you'll find that all the "heavy hitters" will run out of things to talk about, leaving the infrequent posters and lurkers to, well, lurk and post infrequently on this forum. Considering that the Galloway folks aren't participating, this is like four other boards rolled into one, and a little redundantly redundant.

FWIW, as of a few minutes ago, someone from gallowayproductions is participating.

Live and let live.

I love everybody.

Re: Is a truce possible?
I agree this whole forum of threads will die (or thrive) on its own.... People who aren't keen on the approach should just stop posting IMHO. To each his/her own. Man it is hard not to say something about what a giant shortcut the method is.. I guess I see it like getting the stomach stapled... Dang it...

True. But it's more fun. Plus, those punks could use it.

I'll call a truce - I'm bored with all of this bickering and wouldn't mind talking about running again.

Re: Is a truce possible?
I don't really care one way or the other because my day doesn't hinge on if people on an internet forum like me or agree with me or not, if "moron" would just stop making new email addresses to harass me with. I block one, and then next time I check my email, there's at least 6 more.

It's gone past annoying into intrusive, and if it doesn't stop, I will consider it criminal.

That's absolute BS. Your resorts to the victim card are hysterical. You are now making up stories of harassing emails?!?!?!? LOLOLOL.

Care to see them, headers and return paths included, slobutstedy? I am indeed receiving them, and I can prove it. There is nothing made up about it.

I'd happily provide them to a moderator, unfortunately, it seems kevinm's email address isn't available. One more from you and the police will get involved. Consider that your final warning.

Please post these fictitious emails and please foward to the moderators, sheriff, FBI, and anyone else you see fit. They won't be tied to my IP address, assuming they even exist.

P.S. I don't know your email address, dumba$$.

I'm okay wid dat.

I understand where both sides come from.

I'll even promise not to:
--use Galloway as a substitute for hard training
--stop dead in my tracks in front of faster runners
--link hands with other runners and block races
--claim I ran a long race without a disclaimer (people around me all know I always walk some.....it's even gotten more people thinking about running: "I can do that???" Uh, yeah, they're your legs)

Honest....most of us just want to have fun.
