Re: Training Logs from CR?

I had my running log info transferred over. I have found it this afternoon, however it is inaccurate. The month of December is accurate....so I got that going for me, which is nice!

Thanks Holly for the link, but it telling me there's not user by that name. Maybe I have to log out, then log back in under the old name?

Still tryin' to make this work!

Re: Training Logs from CR?

someone posted an alternative running log a few days ago -- what was it?

active.com is glitchy

Nike.com -- you have to purchase Nike+ shoes and an ipod nano to join

Re: Training Logs from CR?
runningahead.com was an alternative that I tried and like.

Change the username below to your CR name and the password to yours (from the old site) to access your old log and you can even save it.

http://www.coolrunning.com/cgi-bin/log/display.cgi?u=userid;p=password

I posted some places to ask for help at the top of the forum (I got moderator stuff now)

Barb,

Can you import your old log info into runningahead.com?

I just bought Pegasus run logging - will never trust to online log again...

$45 bucks and now I'm in control of my own running data.... It was kind of dumb to trust coolrunning log - and you get what you pay for.

FWIW, the Pegasus stuff seems great - easier to input and good statistics... without weekly stats etc. the active.com thing is useless and too difficult too use anyway.

Re: Training Logs from CR?

Yesterday and the day before I had been able to access my old logs via the URL that Hally and Holly had posted. Thanks!

So I am feeling pretty good, that I can use the old logs for awhile.

But today when I try to do it, it comes back with an error message: "The member name and password combination you entered is incorrect."

Argh! This is frustrating. Is the system just flakey and tempermental? Ack!

Excel spreadsheet is looking pretty good right now.

Re: Training Logs from CR?

Huskydon,

You have to do it again each time I think.

Runningahead.com guys - that's the answer I was looking for. The easy automatic upload tool uploaded my saved file from CR and within seconds I have a VERY cool running log again. Hally, I can't thank you enough for the suggestion.

Re: Training Logs from CR?
As Hally posted, this is the link I use to get at my running log:

http://www.coolrunning.com/cgi-bin/log/display.cgi?u=XXXXXXXX;p=YYYYYYYY

You have to manually retype the link, replacing the X's with your old CR username, and the Y's with your old CR password.

I had the original link saved in my favorites, and during that week of the transition (Dec. 12-16) I kept poking around, seeing if it would continue to work. At one point the link didn't work anymore, but somehow (I forgot how I got there), I found the old log again. It was definitely before the 16th, so I think I snuck in just in time. So I saved that new link in my favorites, which is what I posted here. Now I only joined up in November, so I have no idea about older data in the log that I hear people saying isn't correct or saved anymore. But hey, at least it's a start!

Re: Training Logs from CR?

OK, I found that I had to do the following step first, before executing the magic command from Hally & Holly (and Orange Mat)::

http://www.coolrunning.com/cgi-bin/register/start_prefs.cgi?UserName=USERNAME&Password=PASSWORD&goAction=login

I never did this command before, but it works now, so I am ok now.

Re: Training Logs from CR?

I've been trying to find my log for a couple of days now...can't. I'm done. RW is good, though. So, will stick with them. sorry this didn'[t work. For those who wanted info on a shoe log, RW does have one, even breaks it down in $$ per mile...kinda' cool. But after so many years on CR, this is a real disappointment.

Merry Christmas...

Re: Training Logs from CR?

Holly yeah!! that runningahead's import worked for you. Mine failed, I think cause I have so many other workouts :D

Glad to have helped whomever needed it. My work here is done.

Oh wait, no it's not . Heheh, I signed on to this for the long run.
