Newbie--where to get fitted running shoes?

Hi everyone!!

Please have mercy on the newb.

I keep reading to "run" to a store that will fit me with a running shoe.

Can anyone recommend where to find such a store? Will Footlocker do it?

Sorry, guys. I'm SO confused (but excited!!)

Have a great day!

Take care,
Tanya

Should you really want the personal touch of a local shoe store keep trying places until you find a sales person whose first suggestion is something other than a really expensive motion control shoe..

That's a nice broad brush you've painted there. Your opinion, of course.

Hey Newbie,

I was running in NB857 but wanted a change. I just got the Mizuno Wave Nirvanas, however, the saleswoman at the running store said that these may not be good for long runs. So I also bought the Asics Gel Kayanos. I plan to switch them up, using the Mizunos for my tempo runs.

Let me know what you think of your new shoes.
