Interval beep for iPod shuffle?

Maybe I don't really need it, but I was hoping to find a way to make my shuffle beep when I was halfway thru a run, so I would know to turn back.

I'm just finishing C25k and will be moving on to the OHR program. I used Robert's podcasts and am now used to having a audible marker for halfway points and such.

What do you all use, if anything?

Forgive me for getting off your topic a bit, but I have seen other references to the C25K podcasts. Would you please tell me where to find those so that I can download them? Thanks!

Fairly sure there's not much you can do with the shuffle...sometimes I can't even get mine to shuffle.

If you run with a watch, like a Timex Ironman, would you hear it beep while listening to your iPod? If so, you could set the timer to count down half the time you want to run. On the Ironman watches, you can still time your whole run because the chrono and timer features can be used at the same time.

This might be obvious, but you could note the time when you load your shuffle and just know that at the end of a certain song it's time to turn around. Or search for a beep sound file online and load that to play at a certain time.

Re: Interval beep for iPod shuffle?
Jeff Welch who is training with Team in Training has developed a free Ding software for the Ipod that works GREAT with my Shuffle. Just make sure your device is set up in the same order as you create the playlist before you load the ding list to the device.

You can program it for any interval so if you had a 60 minute run you could program it to Ding at 30,1 interval and it would ding, play a different song for one minute then ding again and go on playing your selections for another 30 minutes.

It was originally for Galloway/Interval type trainers but you could use it this way too. I use it for my long runs to program some walk breaks.
