Cross Country Spikes

WIth the upcoming High School Cross Country season approaching I am looking for a new pair of spikes. I work at a sporting goods store and get 25% off and as I flip through the catalogs I am overwhelmed by the shoes. I also can't find many good reviews of XC spikes.

Does anyone have any good recommendations. Also I am a big fan of Asics but they don't need to be Asics.

Re: Cross Country Spikes
See if you can find the shiny blue brooks XC spikes. I used them for two XC seasons, two indoor seasons, and two outdoor seasons, and they held up well until they got torn in a particularly nasty spiking accident.

I work at a small specialty running shop, and the Saucony Kilkenny's have been popular; so are the Brooks Mach series (9 for this fall) and the Asics Hyper XC.

don't get the Asics hyper xc I had them last year and they were terrible so i had to get new spikes after our second meet.

GO for the nike forever xcs or the nike miler xc

Those are the two best spikes ive ever ran in, and i had the brooks mach 8 and the saconeys hes talking about above,

Don't go by what other people say, but try on several pairs and see what feels best to you. What do your teammates wear? What does your coach suggest? I'd trust their opinions more than a stranger's...

Re: Cross Country Spikes
What you NEED to do, is go to a running store, and try them on. Get fitted. Its the only way to make sure it fits well. With something like spikes, that could not be more important, you'll be running very hard on them, and they have to be perfect for you.
