New Balance 991 Replacement

Hi,

Does anyone have suggestions for a substitute for the discontinued New Balance 991 shoe? The 992 doesn't cut it.

Thanks,
Corsair

Re: New Balance 991 Replacement
The main difference between the 991 and the 992 is the cushioning technology. The 991 has ABZORB cushioning which is a foam base cushioning system, the 992 actually has a full length of ABZORB cushioning (that is a removable insert) and an advanced cushioning system of ABZORB SBS in the heel and forefoot. So, you'll get more cushioning with the 992 than the 991. Really that is the only difference; the 992 has an advanced cushioning technology and the 991 has more of a classic NB cushioning technology. What don't you like about the 992?

You could try the 1024 or the 767. I own the 767's and they give great support. I wore them in my last 5K and through all of the training leading up to it, it was my first real race in 6 years!

And I have to come clean here, I work for New Balance...but seriously whichever shoe works best for you, NB or otherwise. Just telling you what I know about the 992 vs. 991. As long as you feel great in your shoes that is all that matters. Try some brands out and see what works best.
