Just a suggestion

There is going to be a lot of negativity on this board while it is trying to establish itself. I say that if someone posts something negative, than those of us who are serious about the success of this forum, that we just ignore those posts. Don't respond at all. They just want to get a reaction and many of you are giving it to them. If we just ignore them, they will go away and have their fun on some other forum. Hopefully everyone here who is serious will agree.

Re: Just a suggestion
It's a nice theory, but at no other internet community I participate in has it happened.

Today has been a clean slate for me as far as responding to the negative comments. I was the worst one because I felt like I was being personally attacked but I am no longer responding to those baits. However I am taking some of the suggestions in the one thread and seeing how they might work here.

Re: Just a suggestion
If you look over in some of the other forums you'll see that individuals post 8-10 diatribes a day.

Sometimes people respond and it'll go on for pages as new/bizarre statements are introduced to escalate the interaction.

Other postings receive no responses and die.

It's not personal. It's just their idea of fun.

Ignore crude or derogatory remarks and those folks will move on to seek other targets.

Positive challenging of ideas is a good thing. We do not have to agree or even like each other, but respect given will often be returned.
