Re: The Long Haul - ACTIVE Style

Fistomag,

Congrats on your run, I think your time is great considering the elements you had to deal with. I whine when it's 40 degrees, it is hard for me to relate to how you have to really consider your clothing. I guess this means fistomag is the first one off on HHST. Hey Justatarted, do you think we should make a New Message Like "HHST WK1" or should we post our successes and failures here? I am good either way.

Don, Buffalo is right on the snow belt isn't it. Urgh!!!! It has to be tough running in that climate. I have a sister in your neck of the woods, Rochester. I can thank commuting to living in the Los Angeles metro area, I am in Glendale to be exact. We don't get the tough weather of back east but we more then make up for it in Real Estate costs and commuting.

Re: The Long Haul - ACTIVE Style
I just got back from the 2miler. No negative splits today. The 2nd mile was definitely harder than the first. I usually jog in the park or on the outdoor track. But this time, I planned a route from my door and back. And let me just say, the way back was full of hills and inclines. It was a good workout and I'm glad that I got through it. That makes 60 miles for the month. Go me :D

Oh, and I think my HR monitor is on the fritz. Again, my HR was really low. I know I've improved my health since I started running, but not that much.

Anyway, Happy Running Everyone.

Re: The Long Haul - ACTIVE Style
Thanks, Mike. I plan to do more next month and so on. The training plan I'm doing gradually increases your mileage based off of your current mileage. So far, so good.

Re: The Long Haul - ACTIVE Style

Well, the HHST plan I will be doing increases more each week as well but I will be starting at 9 miles so I have a way to go for a 60 mile month. BTW - When did this group originally do the C25K together?

Re: The Long Haul - ACTIVE Style
I believe it was July. I started running on 7/16. When I found the group, they were a week ahead of me.

Re: The Long Haul - ACTIVE Style

Doug, this is where "The Long Haul" is posting. We went to RA for a short time but since most of us are interested in running instead of political stuff such as RA vs CR we are here. They (RA) can keep their forum. BTW - I am new and you have probably not heard of me but I was in "View Only" mode during the transition and looking for what I remember as CR. People like Juststarted, Don, and Kimber made me feel at home and welcome as a "Long Haul" member.

Re: The Long Haul - ACTIVE Style

I want to wish all the "Long Haulers" a Happy New Year B-)

We need everyone back here to keep us all going for the coming year, so be careful tonight.

I want to say welcome to the new runners that has joined us, there are a great group of folks here. We have been through so much in only a half of a year. I think all of as gone through an injury and times of discourgement. But we struck together and encouraged each other to keep going. Thanks to all the group for being there for me this year.

I'm off to a 12K early in the morning, after the race we will have a fire and a New Year's meal.

Happy running,

Frank N Mississippi

Re: The Long Haul - ACTIVE Style

I think I have run in 7 5K races. Sometimes being old means there not as many in my age group, I won 6 awards in my age group.

Blake my grandson ran in 3 of the 5K's with me and he got "Young Runner of the Year" for the Pine Belt Pacers. He will get his award the first of the year.

Happy Running,

Frank N Missippippi
