So Long Cool Runners!

I have used the Christmas break to manually extract all info still available in the new Active Trainer environment.

The result after many hours is:

For about 70% of my runs I was able to obtain distance, time and hence pace.

For all these runs, the name of the run, the time of day, the temparature, the weather, my comments, my weight and shoe information is missing

For approx 30% of my runs all data is missing. The approximation is based on the fact that I roughly know my monthly mileage and the data is short.

After all the mails and support suggestions from Active Trainer folk this is an appalling result. My suggestion to you alll is as follows: I am happy to host a website with identical features as the old Coolrunning log, as long as there is someone out there with the skills to design it. If you can do this, send me a mail to aqvt28@xtreme3.pipex.net

Sarah's comments about data protection are completely invalid, since no-one is asked to provide real name and address. Do you really believe my name is "Houten Klompen" ???? So, if someone is able to recreate the Coolrunning log, then I am happy to host it and will invite you alll to use it using any alias you like.

So long cool runners, see you in the next proper running log website!!! B-)

Re: So Long Cool Runners!

Houten Wow great idea!!!

I mentioned to Active.com/ActiveTrainer that their log is the major problem with this transition.

Thousands of runners have already moved on since this disastrous transition. I was a religious user of the coolrunning log and would love to see it somehow stay alive. I mentioned to Active that many of us would even be willing to pay for access to the old log but not a single person coolrunning Dave or a mod responded to the idea.

Anyways I dont use the ActiveTrainer log . I even spent the $10 to see if the paid version was any better but it is the same bs. So I havent logged one workout w/ ActiveTrainer.

2 sites which work great with your log from coolrunning are running2win.com and runningahead.com.

I still prefer the old coolrunning log thu btw you can still use the old coolrunning log but until Coolrunning Dave or Active comment on this situation I feel silly to continue to log workouts on a site that can be pulled at any time.

What blows my mind is how horribly this whole transition was managed. The insiders on this deal including Coolrunning Dave and Active management had no clue that the success of their site revolved around an extremely powerful and simple to use log.

3 weeks later after hundreds of complaints by users about the current ActiveTrainer log and the void left by Coolrunning's log NOT one comment has been made concerning replacing or bring back the best training log online. WTF are they thinking ?? In the meantime while they sit on their hands thousands of the users Active paid for are now no longer using the merged site to log workouts.

If Active paid $2Million for say 10,000 users-$200 a user- they have already lost 25%-50% of their investment by botching this conversion. Worst off these people are so ****** -there is tons of residual bad blood ie Active.com. The $200 or more applied to each user was based on future revenue streams. Thats gone , those are gone and they are ******-that is money that we not be recovered.

Anyways I would love to see the functionality of the old log re-hosted. Let me know if I can help!
