Re: Good bye friends (that's not you, Dick)

I'm leaving after the excitement of the Dickie thread comes to its end. I'm also off to RA.

In the meantime I'm blocking any emails from active.com.

Re: Good bye friends (that's not you, Dick)

I had the same problem. I learned that you will continue to receive email notification of any post to a thread that you created or to which you replied before you changed your My Active/Preferences. You have to go to each of the threads that are still generating email notifications of new posts to that specific thread and follow the directions described by JimR_IWANTMYDA to turn off email notification for that thread. The Preferences changes that you made should stop all future email notifications, unless you overide it for a specific thread by selecting "Receive email notifications" in the Actions box for that specific thread.

They really didn't make it very user friendly. :p

Re: Good bye friends (that's not you, Dick)

Adios Andy, I'm right with you. I have been locked out of the forums since the conversion due to a "system error" that they have promised to fix, but have failed. I had to create this stupid "new" account simply to be heard. I was among the first to say "I will stay" when all the furor started. That was the last time I could post any message. What's unfortunate is that I have to use Active for all sorts of other things -- registering for races, using Eteamz.

After some initial apprehension due to my chronic fear of change, I've begun using Runningahead for my dose of cybercommunity. I converted my training log from pre-conversion. I lost any new data.

Anyway, just for kicks, here is the response that Active has given me over and over.

"Thank you for contacting Active
Trainer.

We are currently working with Cool
Running in order to resolve this issue. Your request has been logged and we
will contact you as soon as possible. We apologize for any inconvenience this
may have caused."

Err, thank you sir, may I have another?

Well done Active. You took a perfectly nice little website and treated it like Dresden in the latter years of WWII.

Re: Good bye friends (that's not you, Dick)

Hi Andy,

Sorry to see you go.

I guess Dick will now have one less knowledgeable person challenging his various post. I would truly hope you would stay, as I am sure you are not aware of the amount of folks on line that read your post behind the seen. I for one found them very informative and really appreciate the effort you put in to make very thorough and informed response to the many topics you contributed to.

OH come on Andy just stay. I cannot see how we are going to build back a discussion board as good as there was at Cool Running at least not that easily.
