signing in & signature line

I have a few suggestions.

First if we are viewing a discussion thread and want to reply but have not logged in yet, there is a button to click "login to reply" but that button takes us back to the active homepage to login... then you have to spend 5 minutes trying to find the discussion thread you wanted to reply to. Can you make it easier to login that takes you back to the discussion or some other way so that we don't lose our "place" on the site?

A second comment on logging in... can we stay logged in when we leave the site & then come back? like how yahoo can keep you logged in for up to 2 weeks(or the old CR always had our username info automatically filled in so we didn't have to log in all the time) - is that possible for this site too?

Third suggestion - can we have a permanent signature line associated with our profile so that when we post it is automatically added to the end of the post?

Thanks.

We are actually in the process of getting some serious design and navigation features worked into the site to help you guys out. This has definitely been one of the major requests from CR users.

At this time we don't have that feature and I'm not sure if we are going to get it or not. I can suggest it though. You should stay signed in unless you close your browser...I know it's not the most convenient option, but with online registration and payments it is safer.

I like this idea a lot. There are lots of forums that do this that I go to, including CR, and I think it's cool. Good idea.

Thanks.

It is not staying signed on for me. Each time I navigate away and come back later I have to sign on again. I have not noticed if this only happens after being gone for a certain length of time or not. I have not closed the browser window though.

To stay signed in should be an option. We know that it is not the safest, but I would bet that there are more than a few CR step children who are the only user on their computer and really don't have to worry about security from the standpoint of someone physically overtaking the computer.

Re: signing in & signature line
In our meeting yesterday we brought up the log in/off issue. There is a bug that is signing people off which they are figuring out. Once that is figured out we can look into staying logged in. It was brought up, but the first issue was top of the list.

We have identified and fixed a login issue specifically for the Cool Running Community site...hopefully it was a common one but there may be other issues out there. Please let me know if you are still having problems logging in. ~Toby

Re: signing in & signature line
Yes, after logging in it takes four pages to get back to your thread to reply.
IF you remember the subject.
+++++++
Right click on the "login to reply" button and select "Open in new tab" or "Open in new window".
Sign in. Once you are signed in close the tab/window.
Go to your original tab/window and reload it. (at the top menu select "view" then "reload" or "view" then "refresh")
The button should change to "Reply"
In the real world this is called a "Workaround". It would embarrass most company's.
This should have been figured out by now.
