This Question is AnsweredJan 20, 2008 11:45 AMGarmin FunWell, i've started using mine...i can now see my pace and heart rate for all my runs, and i can see it on a map. BTW...has anybody been able to change the scale on the graphs. I'd like to do that...can't seem to figure it out. Happy running on a cold, cold day...i will remember this day in the warmth of the spring and summer. JerryX wrote:

You might try taking some things off the graph. I know for heart rate, since you're starting low (60s or so) then that's included in the overall graph. So if you wait to start the watch until your heart rate goes up, you effectively change the scale by eliminating the lower range. By using the Garmin and the Sport Tracks software, I can track mileage on each of my pairs of shoes. This helps me gauge wear rather than going simply by "feel" although if I start to feel any pain I still consider replacing them regardless of mileage. I also use my Garmin when hiking to record mileage and elevation data. Mainly because I'm not hiking in Florida where the elevation changes can be measured in single digits. Ron, I use Motionbasd, Training Center, AND Sport Tracks. They all offer something different and complementary. See: http://www.zonefivesoftware.com/SportTracks/index.html It's shareware for a small donation but no nags if you don't donate. I use it mostly to track shoe mileage but the map views are pretty impressive too. Once you figure out that the little arrows in the upper left corners of the window actually do something the software is pretty cool. One recomendation I would make is to backup Training Center on a fairly regular basis (Export History from the File menu) because it CAN kill your history although it's rare.) My running log is at http://jwarden1.motionbased.com. Which reminds me... I need to upload the Disney marathon! There's a light on the 305. Just press the power button for half a second or so. Not long enough to turn it off. When you do this, every time an alarm or a lap comes up, the light will come on. Also, any button you "tap" will turn the light on without acting as that specific button press. Lee, I'm the Jerry with the evil twin. JerryX is the former JX47 aka Jeremiah. I like getting caught in the rain.

Mostly I use TC just to build my workouts ahead of time, and ST to log them. Jerry, what is your opinion on Motionbased? I've been considering it for a while but I wanted to get someones thoughts on it first.
