Without a doubt, war is stupid. "What're you gonna do about it? That's what I'd like to know" You do the best you can but none of us is god. An arrow kills as easily as a bullet.

I know it is more complicated then this theory I have but it all seems to boil down to unacceptance. Until we can accept others and respect each others differing views then we must have war. I am more accepting now then I used to be of others so war is becoming a passing thing with me. Can't we all just get along. But remember without war one will not know peace.

War to defend and protect freedom is different from just those animals who kill out of hatred because they won't accept people with different views, religions, ways of life.

What's interesting, Nita, is that animals don't kill out of hatred. They kill out of instinct (for food, protection, etc). Humans are the ones who kill out of hatred. Which is basically fear in disguise. We kill people because they're different from us, and that's scary. So instead of sniffing their butts, like dogs do, we shoot them. Pretty stupid.

We're off topic for the MCM, that's granted. But, given your post, thought you might find this quote on war and the reasons people wage it interesting. It comes from Hermann Goering:
Naturally, the common people don't want war, but after all, it is the leaders of a country who determine the policy, and it is always a simple matter to drag people long whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. This is easy. All you have to do is to tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same way in every country.
