Re: Team Snowmen W2 begins!!!!!!Jan20
OK I just did Week 2 Day 1! At first I was a little nervous because during the first run I got a cramp in my side really fast... I think I ate a little too close to my workout. But I did finish which is all that matters! Funny, while I was running I was thinking about what I was gonna write when I got back! I also did my weights. Yay Week 2 Team Snowmen!!

Michele,

That's fantastic that you're doing boot camp...definitely keep that as a priority and ease into the C25K. However, I think you should probably do okay with that too. Your body is ready for it!

Sharon, like you said you need to keep pushing yourself, but just be careful!

Another week three runner here. I found the first two weeks strange, with many minor aches & stiffness & feeling I'd never feel comfortable. I did W3D1 yesterday, terrified at the notion of THREE MINUTES straight running. I managed fine. It was work but doable. Actually, it felt better at the end than week two so hang in there.

i have a question for you guys. i am in week 2 of the c25k program. i am loving it! my problem is i can not run outside and i do not belong to a gym. i have a treadmill at home that i have been using but it is having "issues" and i am not sure how much longer its going to holdup and i cant afford to replace it at this time. i also have an elliptical, is there a way and if so how, could i use the elliptical in place of the treadmill for running purposes. i am just praying the treadmill keeps on a rolling! LOL!

Re: Team Snowmen W2 begins!!!!!!Jan20

Hey everyone-

I finished w1 day 3 on Sunday and I got to go by myself. It was so cold outside but I did it and I start wk2 day1 on wednesday. My run days are Wed, Fri, and Sun. On the days I don't run and even the days I do run I do Pilates I find if I don't do It I feel awful all day. I have fibromyalgia and I have to keep loose. I am suprised so far the only think acting up when I run is I am really tired in the afternoon and I have to take a nap. Have fun with wk 2 everyone.

Here I am in California and use a gym, I can't believe all of you who are running outside. You all really have great determination. I finished W2D2 yesterday and feel great. I have to get week 2 done early, as I will be out of town at the end of the week.

Re: Team Snowmen W2 begins!!!!!!Jan20

Well i just made a new "video" to go with the week 2 workout. I loved ullrey but I missed watching tv on the treadmill, so what i did was make a quick movie that has when to run and when to walk on it. I will play that on my palm pilot while i watch and listen to tv on the screen attached to the treadmill. If anyone in interested in it let me know. There is no music, it is mean to only show when to change. ( yes i know i am a techaholic, it is also the winter and I don't do much at work this time of year being the manager of a waterpark:) )

Re: Team Snowmen W2 begins!!!!!!Jan20

Well, I just complete Week 2 Day 01 and it was pretty good. I started to feel it towards the end but still felt like I could keep on going which was great.

This is such a great program. A few weeks ago I was talking to a friend and I told him that I couldn't run. Now I know that I will.

If you need a new belt for your treadmill, I just got one at http://www.treadmilldoctor.com{color:#3366ff} and its better than the original one. Is your problem the belt or the motor?

Wow that is very creative! Good for you. I don't have a device to watch it on otherwhise I would ask for a copy! I also like to watch TV while on the treadmill and I feel I have to look at the clock all the time not to miss anything (of course, I never miss the walking, it is usually the running I might be a few seconds late for!)

I just did Day 2 and it was OK. I still get a little bit of a cramp in my side, and today I hadn't eaten particularly close to the workout so I guess I just have to deal with it. I finished with a 70 minute yoga class which felt really good after the running!

As always I am so impressed with those who run outside... I will say that I walk to the gym, though, 15 minutes each way, so I brave the elements for a little bit! :8} I

Re: Team Snowmen W2 begins!!!!!!Jan20

I also just completed Week 2 Day 1 and it felt good. I didn't feel tired or out of breath but my shin splints are hurting a bit. I'm hoping I will be over it by the next run but if not I will most likely have to slow the pace until my shins get used to the strain again. I used to be an avid runner plagued by shin splints so we'll see. I was hoping the C25K program would prevent that.

Anywho, good luck to all of you on the program and I'll check back after W2D2!

Re: Team Snowmen W2 begins!!!!!!Jan20

Boy! I feel like such a slacker....I'm not running in two feet of snow, barefoot, uphill! Seriously, I do missing running in the winter in the midwest! I don't have an i-pod to listen to when I need to change. I'm not sure if I'm coordinated enough to use a stop watch or whatever to keep track of my time. We'll see.

W2D2 was great last night! Although it was a little bit disconcerting to watch Rachel Ray while I was on the treadmill! I did lose track of time at the end...I think I actually (gasp!) ran for two minutes instead of 90 seconds. Actually, I thought that if I could do that, next week might also be do-able. I have to admit that I'm a bit nervous about that!

Have a good day folks! It's 41 and rainy here in the San Francisco Bay area.

Maria

Maria, that is really funny - I was watching Rachael Ray yesterday when I ran on the treadmill too! She was making some incredibly rich pasta dish and I had to laugh, I was wondering what the other people in the gym were thinking. Watching TV really helps, though.

Like you I am a little bit worried about week 3 but hopefully I can do it!
