Hello everyone! I live in the Carrollwood area of Tampa and would love to form a running group like this. I've been running for about a year and a half now and usually log anywhere from 24-40 miles a week depending on my schedule. I'm running the Gasparilla Half Marathon Feb. 10th and am super excited! I really want to run the Disney Marathon next Jan. and would like to have someone to train with, as a Marathon is a much bigger beast to tackle than my typical 10/15k... Definitely let me know if a club is organized!!!

Julie, I recommend you contact the Mad Dogs in Clearwater / St. Pete. They train not only running, but biking and swimming.

Hello, I am definitely interested in joining you in a organized road runners club for Tampabay. I run tons of events from 5Ks to Half Marathons, and it would be phenonmal to get together with a group of like minded people. On board to the Gasprilla Budlight Challenge Feb 9 and 10 (15K, 5K, and Half Marathon).

That being said, and this is by no means an advertisement or solicitation unless you want it to be , but I have been running with a group on Wednesday nights in the Carollowood area called the Tampabay Runners, they are an excellent group of people and put on a few races a year, right now there they are having a major push to try and get more people out, so if nothing else maybe join forces with them or create a branch off.

I have seen you post on several threads, and I understand that you are trying to create one large running group for the whole area, but what I am wondering is how far are you in the creation of this process/ what do you need/ what support are you looking for/ what kind of time frame?

I would like to say that the Tampa Gasparilla Michelob Ultra Challenge was really fun, and if anyone here had something to do with setting it up, thank you, or if anyone competed congratulations. Chilly Willy Duathlon this weekend.
