Re: Killer core exercise

Well, I was thinking I could use the brick wall for balance. But then I got on the ball and it was too late...

I don't have time or patience for cross-training. I'm just going to stick with running.

Re: Killer core exercise

LMAO! I hear ya! It sounds good, when you write it too!! But i'm sure it didn't feel good when you tried it!

I prefer cross training to running. LOL. But I'm not as super fast as you guys. And of course, I will get back to running very VERY soon!

Still I think my arms would fall off. Only the straight arm extended period of time part. LOL. I can lift with my arms, but no one asks me to hold the weight there for 2 minutes! LOL

Re: Killer core exercise
A good leg exercise that is great and you don't need weights for, is a jumping squat. Just cross your arms or extend them in front of you, lower to a full squat, then push up explosively and jump up, land softly and bring yourself back down to a squat position and repeat.

curlyj wrote:There was the foot and then there was everything else she found...weak hip/glute on the left side/no core strength/messed up calves. All related, no doubt. She's getting me back to where I need to be. I appreciate that she works on balance and strength and pushes me. I don't want any pansy PT exercises!! When I was looking for a PT I had to call around a lot until I found someone that I thought could work with me. I made it very clear that I wanted someone that was an athlete, preferably an endurance athlete, and would understand my needs, both body and state of mind! Sometimes, you have to be careful what you wish for!! LOL!!

That totally rocks!! It almost makes me hope they put me in Physical Therapy after I go to the doc on Monday!! LOL

Re: Killer core exercise

That is awesome curlyJ, I've been trying to find something like that for Brenda. Where she can get therapy for her back AND strenghten it at the same time w/o injuring it again. I'm sure our insurance will pay for it, we have this wellness program deal that pays for all kinds of stuff like that in fact, I just found out I can get reimbursed for my gym membership! whoohoo!!!
