IPod or MP3 Players

Do many people wear an IPOD or MP3 player when running the marathon? I was reading through the FAQ's and it said it was not allowed. However, I was really hoping to be able to listen to some music as I always do when running outdoors.

Also, 4 of us were planning to do the marathon relay and I found the distance breakdowns to differ from the website which shows:

*Leg 1: 7
miles
*
*Leg 2: 7
miles
*
*Leg 3: 8
miles
*
*Leg 4: 4.2
miles
*

However, when I went to go register, it showed this breakdown:

{font:Comic Sans MS}{size:2}Leg 1 as 6 Miles
{size:-0}{font:Comic Sans MS}{size:2}Leg 2 as 8 Miles
{size:-0}{font:Comic Sans MS}{size:2}Leg 3 as 8 Miles
{size:-0}{font:Comic Sans MS}{size:2}Leg 4 as 4.2 Miles {size}

Do you know which is correct?

Thank You, Gina

The relay is 7, 7, 8, 4.2

As for the IPOD question it is recommended that you do not wear headphones. However we have never disqualified a runner for wearing headphones, it is when people are not paying attention to their surroundings there are problems.

Re: IPod or MP3 Players

I really wish the Marathon sponsors or supervisors would enforce the rules and not

allow peple to wear these things. People that do were are unaware of their surroundings. On more than once occasion

I havae had somebody cut right in front of me or not get out of the way becasue they cannot hear. at the Marine Corps

Marathon I had to actually push a runner out of the way due to a wheelchair competitor who wwas rapidly approaching on a

downhill run. Everybody was yelling to get out of the way and make a hole! But this person could not hear and almost cuased an accident.
