Re: Post needed

U kidding me? I would have never run away.....

I would have just stopped, I would have frozen out of fear and turned white, I would have started feeling all kinds of bodily fluids escape my body uncontrollably and finally, I would have started whimpering...LOL

Re: Post needed
The last time we were in Shenandoah National Park (Skyline Drive), there was a mother bear and two cubs in the woods a hundred feet or so off the road. You should have seen the crowd, stopped by the side of the road, running up in the woods to take pictures! We stopped to look but didn't get out of the car. It probably was pretty safe except for the fools running into the woods.

Another time we were hiking a trail next to a creek (same park). The creek was in a ravine on our right , about 30 feet below us, pretty steep thank you. A bear showed up ambling along the other bank of the ravine. Pretty safe given the distance and having to go down to the creek and back up to cross. Then there was the 12-year-old in front of us who insisted on growling loudly at the bear. Luckily the bear didn't notice.

I will pin that award to my running shirt. By the way, I now run with bear repellent which I also take with me when we hike.

Bear attacks are rare. The bears found in the eastern U.S. are typically not aggressive unless provoked.

I thought it said cousin! :0

Elvis shares my birthday? I didn't know that. Maybe I should have said Elvis instead of the Beatles.

Yes, I found a hermit crab in my backyard. It was right next to the hose and I thought it was a stone. I was going to put it in the trash. I nudged it with my foot to loosen it and it turned out to be a hermit crab. I can't imagine how it got there. The neighbors all disclaimed any knowledge of it. The last one we had was about 5 when it died.
