Team Snowmen W4 Feb 3

Hello Snowmen happy Superbowl Sunday! And welcome to Week 4!

Congratulations to all who are hanging in with us. Congratulations to all the W3 finishers. I will continue these threads but I have to rest at least this week. I spoke with a knee specialist and he prescribed time. I am going to visit a PT that specializes in knees this week. They should have me back on the road in a short time. I will start my week 4 as soon as I am able. I do not believe that I will have to go back to previous weeks as I find the running quite easy even with the bad knees. Keep up the good work snowmen I will be with you in spirit. B-)

Re: Team Snowmen W4 Feb 3

I hope your knees get better soon. Thanks for creating these threads. Part of what keeps me going is the anticipation of reporting in!

I've completed week 03 today and will be doing week 04 from Wednesday onwards. It's already Monday afternoon here in New Zealand.

I've been running in the gym but will have to run outside on Wednesday as my gym is shut due to it being a holiday.

Re: Team Snowmen W4 Feb 3

OK Gunner, here is my report from Week 4 Day 1! Wow, it was the hardest so far! I was really struggling with the last five-minute run (actually with both five-minute runs.) When I had two minutes left I really didn't think I was going to make it - but I thought about how neat it would be to write about it here if I did it! So I did! I was panting and my face was bright red for a looong time afterwards but I DID it! Yay.

We are getting close to the half-way point of the program! Good luck everybody!

Re: Team Snowmen W4 Feb 3
ok i started week 3 day 1 today~should I join a different group? I fell behind a week after I started with this group. I did the 1st interval fine (90 sec.) the 2nd one that was 3 minutes running I only ran about 2/3 of it but then the 2nd time around I made the whole 3 minutes. I kept thinking if i can just make it 90 sec. then I thought if I can make it 2 min so i did then I just kept thinking 30 more sec when I made that one I thought 30 more I can't stop now! and I MADE IT!!!!! I was so proud of myself when it was over. Wednesday my goal is to make both 3 minute intervals!

This running stuff is addicting! I have no idea why I decided to run (b/c I'm NOT a runner) but I am really enjoying it.

Re: Team Snowmen W4 Feb 3

Don't leave, Autumn!! You're still in this, which is great!

Gunner, good for you for taking care of your knees. Did they do okay during the walk? That's a good way to keep a foot in the game...

New Zealand, congratulations on finishing your W3!

Chiocciola (did I get that right?), W4D1 was tougher!! I did it tonight and ended up slowing down on both of the 5 minute runs. It really does help to have this group to report back to after a run. I know I'm not going the distance because I'm running so slowly. However, this is more running than I've done in ages!

Have a good week...wherever and whenever you are!!

I couldn't agree more with your statement. However I think we are all now runners, it may not be for very long or very far but we are running.

I too wasn't sure if I should stay with this group or switch. I got behind when I went on vacation and couldn't start where I left off. I am repeating W2. Last night I did W2D2. It is good to read on everyone's progress. So Autumn you won't be the only one a little behind the pack.

Re: Team Snowmen W4 Feb 3

Update:

Well the flu that has been going around hit my boyfriend extremely hard, so i was penned up babysitting him and the kids all weekend. Now i don't feel great and haven't run since Wednesday last week. I am going to try to run tomorrow, if i can keep from coughing so much i have to stop, but i will be doing W3D2 so i'll be in the "week behind" crew too :) I have a "fun run" on the 16th that I am trying to get ready for, it's only 2 miles but I want to do the best i can! Wish me luck!

Re: Team Snowmen W4 Feb 3

Well I completed Week 04 Day 01 today. Boy it was tough but I felt so proud when I completed it. I ran outside for the first time and it was pretty neat.

I think all the snowmen should keep contributing to this thread even if you've fallen behind. It is really inspiring for me to see so many people giving it a go. Those of you who are a little bit behind keep on running. Don't let minor setbacks derail your progress.

Re: Team Snowmen W4 Feb 3

I also completed W4D1 today and I would agree it was much tougher than last week. I wasn't sure I would make it through the first five minutes but I did better the second round.

Congrats to all of you completing W4D1...stick with it!

Also, for the rest of you Snowmen that started with us, I think you should stick with our thread even if you are a bit behind. I'd love to hear your thoughts and maybe those of us ahead can inspire you to keep with it?

Re: Team Snowmen W4 Feb 3

W4D1 done this morning. I cut the first 3 minute run short by about 20 seconds because I hit a big hill just at the end, and the last 5 minute run short by about a minute for the same reason (and I was buggered!). So, not a perfect outing, but certainly better than nothing! The first 5 minute run didn't go as badly as expected either, although it certainly felt longer than I thought it would. I recovering between runs better too, so the shortened walking times weren't too bad at all. I obviously need to work on either planning my route better or focussing on actually running up those hills! I'm thinking I'll run the same route on Friday and just go for the hills rather than stopping.

Week 4 is obviously a step up from week 3. We're running almost double the time, and my legs can feel it now!

Re: Team Snowmen W4 Feb 3
I read a week behind and a week ahead of my group, the FINISHERS. You guys- this is the hardest week so far, week 4, and you will make it through to find week 5 is better! Don't let it get to you, it was my hardest week too, but read the FINISHERS thread and see how we are all finding week 5 easier. Its a tough week, but you can do it- keep each other motivated and together, and read ahead to get some positive reinforcement. :D It gets better! Go Snowmen!
