Long term back injury. Advice?

I'm currently a senior in high school and have been out from running since 10/06. I ran on my schools' XC and Track teams beginning my Freshman year, and stopped running when a mysterious back injury occurred in the middle of my Junior year XC season. It was very quick, and had no obvious cause. One day I was running, the next I could hardly walk. I kept trying to run, but eventually gave up when I couldn't even walk from one class to the next. I started going to a chiropractor, which barely helped. Then I went to a different chiropractor, then an orthopedist, and then a physical therapist. I had X-Rays and an MRI, but they didn't show anything. My chiropractor told me that my neck was causing my back pain, but the orthopedist laughed and said that that wouldn't cause something this intense. I really love running and this past year has been ****. Before my injury I had training plans all set for after my season, and I'd like to be able to someday continue with them. The summer before my injury I finished running about 40 mile weeks, but even a 10 mile week would suffice now.

My specific injury is in my lower back. I am in constant pain, and I cannot stand or sit for too long, because I get quite restless. I'm not sure how much my neck is involved, but it gets tight a lot, and I usually crack it gently. If anyone has any advice about any treatments, it would be greatly appreciated. I've heard a few things about acupuncture, but I really want something that will cure my back. If I was just upset about the pain, I would be taking medication. Thanks in advance!
