Morning! So much to post, yesterday's conference was so interesting, but I am going to compile my thoughts and post them later. I was OP yesterday, my day looked like this: Mango Oatmeal with Milk, Popcorn, WW Pasta with Turkey Tomato Sauce, Banana, Latte, Roasted Pork with Mixed Veggies, WW English Muffin with Sugar Free Jelly (pts) and I earned the APs with 30 minutes on the elliptical and 30 minutes weights. So a very good day overall, got my GHGs including my water too.
I have today off, so heading to the gym in a bit for intervals on the indoor track. It's really warm out, but pouring. Forecast looks good this week though for some morning runs. My mileage has been kind of erratic lately, and I really want to focus on training for the half in May. Oh, and I have been thinking about fall marathons - and if I don't get into NYC which is my first choice, I am considering San Antonio RnR.
cherbear - Purple Haze Martini sounds awesome! Sorry you had to work so much, but hopefully you'll enjoy your break tomorrow. As far as running shoes, a lot of it depends on mileage and your overall build. People say between 300-400 miles, although I often feel some aches and pains and that's what reminds me to get a new pair. I try to always have 2 pairs to rotate- an old and a new, so I can make the transition easily when I get a new pair.
zanyjanie - welcome!
Melanie - how was the run!? Great way to get the girls to learn nutrition info and how to read labels!
lifentheparks - Wow, you've had a very productive and active weekend! I am running the first leg next weekend, it's 7.2 miles. This same team did the race last year, we had a lot of fun. It's in a beach town, you run by lots of cottages and waterfront, although much different in the winter. I have a lot of running friends heading there for the relay, the half marathon, or the 10k so it will be a good day. The mustard sounds great! I sometimes use sage, although this time I did a very simple minced garlic, salt and pepper rub. I like pork as a change of pace, and I often use my grocery circular to get ideas based on what's on sale. Hope you enjoy the Bingham books - don't worry, you're not obsessed, just enjoying a new interest!
Bodacious- we missed you! Glad you made it back, even if your bags are still enjoying the warm weather.
redfoxfan - I love that you're tracking the miles -that's so cool! I think liking to cook is an advantage to eating healthfully - you are in control of the ingredients. Often, no matter what you might choose to cook, it's nowhere near as many calories as a restaurant. So keep on telling us about all the wonderful things you make.
Shannon - I hope you're feeling better. It is tough when you miss running, but good motivation to get back out there when you're feeling better.
Gotta get moving - more later!
