Re: 1/2 Marathon Trainers, Week of Feb 24th
Well I hope you are all ready for your races this weekend ! All you Rodeo runners have a great time

Chuck good luck with your HM

runjr - yes I have a 5k this weekend - Sunday - it`s not in central park which will be a nice change ! - I think this one has a lot of bands playing on the course too so I think it will be fun. I`m feeling ok - thanks for asking - I`m be very careful with eating really small meals mostly liquid and no fat

krugg - If you are getting plenty of rest during the rest of the week I don`t think running after one night of little rest should be too bad for you

Mary = have a great weekend - I like your plan !

Joe - I feel worse at night - as longs as I can get sleep I`m ok to workout in the day I`m just not eating as well as I would like - but maybe thats a good thing I`ll drop a little more weight !! lol I was boxing to Eye of the Tiger today ! .. it had to be done

kev - you`ll be fine - I think you can afford to miss one run with all the other training you do ! How are your teeth feeling ?

andahuff - no ipod enjoy the race !

misswendy EC deficiency ... hmm ... thats a thought !! .. but then I did see him today !! Oh . and as you posted your pic here are mone from the 4m last week

http://www.brightroom.com/view_user_event.asp?EVENTID=34798&BIB=4573&S=230&PWD=

I look a wreck in most of them !! .. enjoy the family night !

Ugh! I somehow ate something with gluten in it yesterday and now I'm having stomach cramps. Gluten intolerance can be a real pain! It will probably be better tomorrow, so I'm just living with it. I think I'll be heading off to bed soon. I'll see all of you running in the Rodeo Run tomorrow at 9 at the chip table. I'll be wearing the same blue shirt that I wore for the HM. No iPod for me. I enjoy the race atmosphere too much to spoil it with headphones. Can't wait!

Re: 1/2 Marathon Trainers, Week of Feb 24th

Good evening everyone! I did my 30 min easy run this afternoon. It was a nice afternoon, and it felt good to get out and run. Especially having missed yesterday.

Runjr, good luck with your run this evening. Yeah we got about 3 inches. It was pretty much gone off the roads by this afternoon though. I usually don't run on the sidewalks anymore. There's too much ice, or too many (deep) puddles of water.

Andahuff, my vote would be no IPOD, but it's certainly your choice.

Misswendy, nice job on the xtraining. Good luck getting your run in! I don't know, DD#3 is trying some ‘power-play' thing tonight. Looks like she's going to hanging around the house for awhile... Snow ice cream? I can package you up some. I sure got enough in my back yard!

Joe, yeah 1 run, coach told me not to worry about it. He did bump today's run to 30 min from 20 though.

Spicegeek, The teeth are better, although I'm going to take an Advil before I go to bed. Good luck on your 5K.

Well time to go! I'm going to go to bed. Everyone have a good time at your races!

Re: 1/2 Marathon Trainers, Week of Feb 24th
hi all, went to basketball game tonight and decided to take the day off. I will run in the AM tomorrow.

misswendy - you are now cross training! I have not made snow ice cream but now I'm really going to find out about it. We have enough of the snow to make plenty of ice cream to feed all of Mississippi.

joe - mirrored sun glasses? Have a great race.

spicegeek - sounds like a fun race. I hope the weather is better for this one. Take it easy.

kevee - good run today. I'll be out in the AM.

take care all. Good luck to our racers!

Re: 1/2 Marathon Trainers, Week of Feb 24th
Hey guys!

YES, I need to go to bed...racing tomorrow - 10K - can't wait to meet JOE, PEG, MARILYN & ANDAHUFF - wish all of you were going to be there! Luckily, sounds like we can send pics to the rest of you (provided we all find each other!). My DH was out-of-town this week (yes, I 'supposedly' work full-time PLUS mommy duty - not so much working going on this week!). We hosted a party for my oldest DD's 2nd grade class this p.m. -- so, I've just finished cleaning up & relaxing a bit...

Tough schedule - so, I didn't allow myself much computer time. Thanks for all of the well-wishes! GOOD LUCK CHUCK in your race this weekend - we'll be thinking about you too.

SPICEGEEK - glad you're feeling better - keep us posted, please & take it easy!

KRUGG - don't know what to tell you about shift work - yikes! my experience has been that when i'm overly fatigued, I might as well wait to run, as i feel like i'm running in "lead boots" or simply don't use good form...would be interested in what others think.

CARA? Where did you go?

KEVIN, JEFF, RUNJR, MISSWENDY, MARY, ANNEY & others - HAPPY SATURDAY! (Hope you all had a great "leap day!" today...)

Laurel

Misswendy! Mmmm chili... I mean, nice legs. Getursexyon!

Anney, do you live near the Bay Area? I forgot. Can you post your location on the 1/2 Marathon Trainers Map? Any chance you will be running Emerald's Across the Bay 12K on 3/16? You'll get to meet Emerald the Mixed Nuts!

SpiceG: take care! SF = stress fracture? I was using SF for San Francisco!

Joe, Peg, Marilyn, Laurel, Andahuff, missanyone?: Good luck and have fun on the Rodeo Run! When's the next get-together race? I wanna join you guys!

Hi Krugg,
I went for a run this morning planning for a tempo run workout, only to find that I was too tired to continue after a 2 mile warm-up run. I wasn't getting enough sleep lately, so I'm guessing I was running in a fatigued state. I cut my run short and changed it into a recovery run. You could run in a fatigued state, but don't count on getting your planned workout done.

JeffRW,
My favorite race has to be Mt. Madonna Challenge 12K in Gilroy, CA. I ran the trails on Mt. Madonna for the first time last year in August and instantly fell in love. The 1100 feet gain in the first mile was like climbing a stairway to heaven. The soft dirt trail covered with leaves, ever-changing scenes from lush green landscapes to barren sandy top, dusty fireroads, steep downhills, it was a run I could not forget. So, I went back to Mt. Madonna last Sunday and fell in love again.

It was raining pretty hard and I didn't expect to see anybody. I was going to enjoy Mt Madonna by myself. But, there was this one crazy guy in a yellow rain coat hiking on the trail with a trail stick in his hand. I think I scared him pretty good because he let out a little yelp. Later on, when I was running back home, a pickup truck pulled over to the side of the road and the driver asked me if I wanted a ride because I was running in the rain. I looked inside and it was the same guy I passed on the trail! I guess there's no bad person who loves Mt. Madonna. (except me)
Oh, I ran to the bank the other day! :)
