Anney, do you live near the Bay Area? I forgot. Can you post your location on the 1/2 Marathon Trainers Map? Any chance you will be running Emerald's Across the Bay 12K on 3/16? You'll get to meet Emerald the Mixed Nuts!
SpiceG: take care! SF = stress fracture? I was using SF for San Francisco!
Joe, Peg, Marilyn, Laurel, Andahuff, missanyone?: Good luck and have fun on the Rodeo Run! When's the next get-together race? I wanna join you guys!
Hi Krugg,
I went for a run this morning planning for a tempo run workout, only to find that I was too tired to continue after a 2 mile warm-up run. I wasn't getting enough sleep lately, so I'm guessing I was running in a fatigued state. I cut my run short and changed it into a recovery run. You could run in a fatigued state, but don't count on getting your planned workout done.
JeffRW,
My favorite race has to be
Mt. Madonna Challenge 12K in Gilroy, CA. I ran the trails on Mt. Madonna for the first time last year in August and instantly fell in love. The 1100 feet gain in the first mile was like climbing a stairway to heaven. The soft dirt trail covered with leaves, ever-changing scenes from lush green landscapes to barren sandy top, dusty fireroads, steep downhills, it was a run I could not forget. So, I went back to Mt. Madonna last Sunday and fell in love again.
It was raining pretty hard and I didn't expect to see anybody. I was going to enjoy Mt Madonna by myself. But, there was this one crazy guy in a yellow rain coat hiking on the trail with a trail stick in his hand. I think I scared him pretty good because he let out a little yelp. Later on, when I was running back home, a pickup truck pulled over to the side of the road and the driver asked me if I wanted a ride because I was running in the rain. I looked inside and it was the same guy I passed on the trail! I guess there's no bad person who loves Mt. Madonna. (except me)
Oh, I ran to the bank the other day!
