Toughest Streak: Favre or Ripken?

On Sept. 27, 1992, Favre started at quarterback for the Green Bay Packers and led them to a 17-3 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers.

He never missed another start - regular season or playoffs - knocking out 275 games in a row.

You're never supposed to say never, but is this the NFL record that will never be broken?

Who do you think has the most impressive streak-Favre at 275 football games in a row over 16 years or Cal Ripken at 2,632 consecutive baseball games played over 17 seasons?

Tough call. I think Favre was more likely to get injured so I am leaning towards his streak of 275 games in a row over 16 years. That's pretty amazing for a quarterback who has definitely taken his fair share of hits over the years. Both streaks are pretty ridiculous though. What do you think?

Agreed. Cal isn't getting hit like this in any of those 2,632 games. Ouch! I do agree though that it is a tough call and both guys deserve a lot of credit.

I think the Favre's streak is the more impressive. Not to take anything away from Cal, who is one of the class acts in baseball and one of the all-time greats, but having to take all those hits along with playing in inclement weather it's tough to argue against Favre. Also if you do the math a football season is 1/10th as long as baseball so to play in 275 straight football games can be equated to 2750 baseball games, so I think Brett gets the nod.

It's not even close. Favre's streak was much harder. He is getting his tail kicked every week by guys twice his size. Even after his part is done in the play, he is getting hit. While Ripken's streak was impressive, he is not taking the beating that Favre did.

Favre for sure!! I'd put money that Ripken would say the same.
