New to the site and to the sport, all input helpful...

Hi all, I have been running for about 8 months now. It started of as walking in the park on the weekends, and now I've been able to build up my endurance to a level where I would feel comfortable running my very first race in May. I am still very green when it comes to competetive running since I've mostly just been doing it for the fun and never really pushed myself that is why its taken me so long to actually be able to do a race. I've gained a new passion for this sport since I've been wanting to become more active and be a part of something competetive and running is just perfect. Now I want to be able to do it right and do it smart and eventually run a marathon but I'm setting a small goal now so I can get a feel for the entire experience. Any suggestions, tips and even race times are appreciated. Thanks so much. Looking forward to hearing everyones replies.

Hey Ursula,
Welcome! My name is Sara and work in the Active Community. I saw your post and wanted to see if you wouldn't mind me moving it to the Running Community? I think you'll get more of a response that way. Sound good? There are a lot of people in your same shoes over there. :) Glad to have you on the site with us!
Sara
