Re: looking for WASSARD/WOODY 116........Vol, 6

I went to the gym again yesterday morning & did the 2R/3W 4 times again & did some weights. Boy, its almost like I'm getting into a groove with this early morning stuff :) Today I'm actually itching to run, but its suppose to be a rest day. I think I need to vacuum to get of the dust - so not a good idea for running in the house today. WIll maintain & vacuum.. then I should be able to TM it here tomorrow.

Patty- sounds like you are doing good :) Having some at the end of the run is great! I've actually been feeling that way lately too. guess that's why I needed the program, I was running til I was spent before. Hmmm maybe thats why the bronchials weren't happy.

Off to take the kids to a movie & vacuum, ugh!

Hey guys -

The first week is done! Today I just felt like I could run farther, but I didn't. I keep thinking about how the bronch like this better.

Tom, of course, that is a good idea. That's what we pay you the big bucks for. Also, the green was very appropriate as today is St. Patrick's day.

Rin, wow, great job. I'm so glad your in such a good place. Hope you enjoyed the movie.

Saturday I ran a little over 2 miles outside. Then marched in a St. Patrick's day parade. Sunday my legs were spent, so I didn't run again. I did so many dishes, made a roast for my family and Irish stew to bring to work today. We had fun at a luncheon. I also had to pick up my daughter from the train downtown. She was returning from NYC again. What a life! Okay she is young.

Tonight, hopefully to the gym for a run and a weight workout.

Slan,

Patty

Re: looking for WASSARD/WOODY 116........Vol, 6

Hello all,

No run or weight workout last night. I went home with a headache that was fast becoming a migraine. I ended up taking some advil and going to bed around 7:30. This morning I felt better and ran 3 miles. They were fairly speedy with the 1st 12:22, the 2nd 11:37 and the 3rd 11:43. I'm so happy to have one day a week with faster times. I know now that I can improve my time. I think the improvement is largely attributable to the Prilosec OTC that my Gastroenterologist has my taking 2 pills twice a day. I think my lungs are recovering, to a degree, from the damage the acid caused. Or maybe I'm just improving the non-injured area of my lungs. Either way, I'm doing better.

Have a good day all!

Hello,

I ran 3 miles today in 37:42 minutes. The average pace was 12:35. I then did a weight workout. Tomorrow I will be sore, but I will run anyway.

Have a good day all.

Patty

Re: looking for WASSARD/WOODY 116........Vol, 6

No argument here. I couldn't run with a migraine if I wanted to, which I'm sure I wouldn't.

I ran today again. I was surprised when I woke this morning that I wasn't very sore at all. I did run fairly slow, about 13:05 min./mile. It was a good run and I'm going to try to stretch all day as I think the third day of running in a row needs that.

Tom how have you been? Is the back okay?

Have a good day!

Patty

Re: looking for WASSARD/WOODY 116........Vol, 6

Hey guys -

IP - ugh migraines - thats no fun at all :( good to hear that the GI doc treatment is helping!

Tom - 3-4 runs a week - that's great news!! plus the back being a non-issue, that's great.

So, here's my week in review:

Tuesday - did 3/3 run walk 4 times as per running program. Couldn't breathe very well.. actually first 2 minutes on each interval were bad, and 3rd minute I was breathing great... tried to do weights, could barely do it, so quit. I felt really lethargic, so took a hit on the inhaler when I got home.. and felt much better. But as usual, didn't really recover until the next day. It turned out there was dust on my headboard on my bed.... I cleaned that off Wed nite. Anyway, I did this run according to doc's orders, and seemed to be just fine the next day. I don't know if that's due to the Symbicort...

Thursday - did the 3/3 run/walk 4 times again at the gym. It felt great! I could've gone on much longer running, but didn't. I stuck to the program. I did weights too.. just fine today.

Today - did 3/3 run/walk 4 times again at home. It was chilly in the house, and had to wear a jacket while running in the house :( I walked 20 minutes and still wasn't very warmed up.. did first 2 intervals & it felt hard, but I was breathing fine. After the second, I was warmed up & took my jacket off. The second 2 intervals were just fine.

So, now I'm thinking about repeating this week... while I now I can run the 4 minutes on the next week, if everything is going well.. but if its not, maybe I'm better off doing this week over again. What do you think?

Re: looking for WASSARD/WOODY 116........Vol, 6

The difference on Thursday? Well it was first thing in the morning, at the gym, where the temperature is controlled - comfortable for working out, not too warm, not too cold. Yesterday, was at my house after I'd been doing things for awhile where I seem to have some issues with dust & it was pretty cold in the house. We have a lot of windows & we have trouble keeping the house warm & it was pretty cold Friday night... I did vacuum on Thursday, so I thought dust would not have been an issue. However, I had a lot more trouble warming up on the treadmill yesterday.. Thursday at the gym, no problems warming up at all.

So tomorrow when I go to the gym, I will decide depending on how I feel... I think that's the smart way to handle it. Because if all is good, it will not be a problem.

Happy Easter!!!!

Re: looking for WASSARD/WOODY 116........Vol, 6

So Saturday might have had a dust component afterall, I vacuumed again on Sunday & was surprised how much better I was breathing afterwards.... So I went to the gym this morning &was able to warm up :) So I moved on to the 3rd week - 4/4 runwalk 4 times.. & it felt great! I really was breathing very well :) :)
