Of course I love them. They are little boogers, but they have their good points too.

I'm sure they just figured out where the spare is. Which is on their Dads key chain. They aren't  supposed to be touching that either!  Grounding would be nice, but you can't really discipline children who aren't you own.  Definintely the lonly draw back to the situation. The only thing I can really do is think in my head. Things will be different with my kids. LMAO

I'm behind on reading all this stuff since my spring break trip. Holly, are you staying at your brother's house with a bunch of little kids? Have you thought about telling them your stuff in haunted? That might keep them away.

No, her brother and fam live at HER house.

Haunted might be good. Of course, having a good firm talk with your ahem TENANTS, your brother and his wife, might also be in order. Since YOU can't discipline him, and they are crossing a line, they have a responsibility to discipline them. It's not ok to snoop through other people's stuff. End of story.

    Failing that, short-sheet their beds.

How did they come up with 8 seconds as the time required to stay on a bull???

No, the bull does not much care, but the rider does. The clown's real job doesn't start until the rider falls off. The clown's job is to distract the bull and get him away from the rider (at whom he is understandably p.ssed) so the rider does not get stepped on until he has a chance to get up and scramble to safety.

    Why do I know that?

So it's a random through thread and today I'm writing a paper on smoking. Usually I specialize in crack/cocaine, heroine, or ADHD. I'll occasionally write about alcohol use, but tobacco just isn't my main area of research. So everyone says "Smoking is bad".... holy cr@p, smoking is really bad for you!!! REALLY BAD! As I'm doing this research I can't believe how bad it is.... cancer of basically every part of your body, lung disease (above and beyond lung cancer), cardiovascular disease, lower bone density, early menopause, prenatal effects (I'll leave that one for Curly to talk about). And not only does it make you sick, once you're sick you are sicker and have poorer rates of recovery than non-smokers. A male smoker with lung cancer is 23 times more likely to die than a non-smoker with lung cancer! Smoking kills more people than HIV, car accidents, suicide, murder, alcohol use and drug use COMBINED. I know I'm preaching to the choir, but geez oh man, some of these facts just blew my mind!

Random thought. I think it is SO awesome that crime is so low in VA that State troopers are now standing at toll booths giving out tickets for barely expired inspections. I can sleep better tonight know Fairfax has solved the gang issues!!! And I no longer have to worry about the guy who mugs people in my parking lot at work!

Let me just say, that I am fully aware it is my responsibility to insure my car is legal. I was just out the country part of last month and I'm at work 7 days a week since I got back.  Its a little difficult to get to an inspection station while it is still open.

I also really wish I was one of those people who has no problems with name dropping to get out of tickets!

Why do I know that?Um, so why use clowns? At that point I'm guessing the rider doesn't care either. As long as said bull is chasing them and not stomping on him.

Well, heck, I knew that too.  If you've watched rodeo a little you can usually figure that out.  Though I've never heard anyone explain the 8 second thing.  Jerry's reasoning sounds good.  And clowns are just more fun.  They distract the little kids from seeing their dad/brother/uncle getting stomped by a bull.  (I don't know, are there any moms/sisters/aunts out there getting stomped by bulls?  Or are they just too smart for that?)

It's an addiction.  My daughter used to come home from school with all the statistics, the pictures of diseased lungs, etc.  She watched her mother go through a year of being extremely ill and another year or so getting back to maybe 60%, from a disease that was rooted in smoking.  And now my daughter smokes!  Peer pressure.
