Cannot Find a 52cm WSD Bike

I had a HUGE disappointment today. The FELT FW35 only goes up to a size 50. After looking at the sizes for the Giant OCRW1, they don't sell a 52 either. Medium is 50 and Large is 53.5 cm.

I had completely dropped the Trek 2.1 WSD off my list but now that may be the bike I'm stuck with becuase they are the one that sells a 52cm frame in WSD.


I was fairly confident up until this point but I have a guy trying to sell me the Medium OCRW1 and I just really feel like it will be too small.


Is there a way to determine what size frame I really need? What I found online was to multiply my inseam of 81cm by .65 to get a size of roughly 52.5. I'm 5'6".


I know sizing and fitting a bike is not an exact science but I'm open to any and all advice you are willing to give.

Ashley,

A good bike shop should actually fit you properly. There are several methods for measuring for the proper fit. You may want to actually spend 25-50 and get a professional bike fit or try this link from Colorado Cyclist. The old notebook method is the one I've used.

My uncles finally responded to me! They said a WSD bike is usually a compact frame so the size isn't as big as what you think it should be.


I'm going to hop in the shower and head out to the bike shop this morning since I have Friday's off again. :-)

Almost. I made a decision and now I'm just waiting for the bike to get here.

I wen't with the Felt FW35 (50cm) :-)
