Happy Day!

Sure, the weather couldn't be better. But yesterday I got a call from an old buddy of mine (a 3:40 marathoner, several years removed) who's got a meeting today here where I work. He wanted to know if I wanted to do lunch. I said fix a sandwich and bring your running shoes! Great Falls State Park is right across the street from me. We're doing a trail run at 1:30 this afternoon! :D

Re: Happy Day!
It's heading for 80 here in Philly. I have a 5 miler planned probably with some strides, but it could turn into an interval session.

Re: Happy Day!

Len, at 80 degrees, intervals? You're bionic, in my case 80 means a short, very slow run.

Re: Happy Day!
I ended up doing the strides, 9 X 100. 9 because that's how many fit in the last mile of my run. Other than that it was a pretty easy one.

Re: Happy Day!
I still have to get my 5 with 6x100m strides in. Not sure I really want to go out in this heat though. Why can't it be 50 year-round? :p

Re: Happy Day!
Supposed to do 5 today but will not do any. I feel lazy and just do not want to do anything so me and the fam = 1 kid will be going to see Mims Island right after we have chili dogs and ice cream. This is therapy for a runner I tell ya.

Jimmy

Had a great 6.5 m run with hills. One of those that shows you why you love to run. Happiness! Have a great day all of you. It's a rare Vermont day, clear skies, unbelievable views, no bugs yet, and in the low 70s. What more can one ask for.

Re: Happy Day!
Ron, you're right around the corner from where my mom lives. She lives off of River, but we would always hike the Billy Goat in the spring... nice job running that... that's half trail, half bouldering. I went for a run on the towpath when I was home once last spring... it is SO different than running in the city. Plus, it was a weekday so it wasn't very busy and was so calm and peaceful. So much easier to run when you can just go and not worry about cars, pedestrian traffic, traffic lights, etc.
