I'm pretty sure it's a rule that nobody willingly lets their spouse buy an accordian.
We've come this far and it's still the same,
Runnin' out here in the rain.
Just one more mile, if only you could fly.
(Apologies to T. Rush and J. Tempchin, for the paraphrase)
Congrats on 23 years Nita! What is the secret to a long lasting relationship such as yours? I met my husband 13 years ago and we've been married for 7. It is so awesome when you are REALLY with the right person! That time has flown by. I hope we make it to 23, like you and Neil!!
Maybe Jesus could play a squeezebox "Chariots of Fire" or "Rocky:" theme for you at the finish........
Thanks, Lauren! OMG, I LOVE Panera's chocolate croissants! I'll bet they're good carb fuel, don't you??? Say yes!
I just finished reading Real Simple last night and they had an easy recipe for chocolate croissants: Take regular croissants that you get near the biscuits and before you roll the triangles up, put about 10 chocolate chips in the wide part of the triangle. Roll and cook and usual, but the eating is much yummier ![]()
I do today what you won't, so tomorrow I do what you can't.

Hey, it just so happens I have some croissants and chocolate chips in the house! I know what's for lunch!
I love marathon week, I almost feel obligated to eat everything I can stuff in my mouth. I've already had breakfast AND my mid-morning Pop-Tarts snack. Woo-hoo!
Thanks, Kat!
Congratulations Nita on your 23rd anniversary!
It does seem unusual to hear of people that actually stay married these days. I guess we just need to find that right someone and some don't. The key I think is waiting for that right one and I found mine too. Robyne and I will be celebrating our 21st in July, so we're getting there!
Congrats again!
Funny coincidence. I'm married to Robin and we celebrate our 21st in May. Marriage is investment that keeps on giving. It takes work too. Can't take it for granted. We all change and grow over time, although there is something essentially the same now as there was in my 22 year old self. "i love you' has a whole new meaning every year.
i've got to be a little pragmatic about this 3:30. my goal at MCM was uner 4:00 and to hit 3:44 was amazing. 3:30 just seems like a bridge too far...i'm just so conscious of my training times... i know there is a race 'lift', but just want to enjoy it.
happy running!

Happy Running!
Just runa dn enjoy the time out there Jeremiah. Some of my fastest times came when I was having fun and just running to run. 3:30 is very doable. I ran 23 minutes faster there last year then I did in DC so take that for what it is worth.

Empty what is full... Fill what is empty... and scratch where it itches...
Liz - not a runner!
Jimmy - has to run!
13 years this December and she said she might consider a December half with me. This would be awesome. I brought in last years anniversary with a half in Fredericksburg and beers and Pina Coladas with Jerry, Holly, And Lee due to some work induced seperation. Wish us luck and glad to see that there are a lot of committed people here, both to there spouses and themselves.

It's never Gerald, Jimmy. It's Jeremiah or Jerry or JX or MAC.
Thanks for the encouragement.
This taper is driving me mad. one reason i run is to eat, and i am beginning to feel a little bloated.
Happy Running!
My apologies Jeremiah, I knew it was wrong while I was typiong it but am being distracted by TV and dogs right now. I don't know what I was thinking. I owe you one.

And we don't call Jimmy, James. Or Jim. Or Jimster. But we can call him Jarhead and 26.2 miles of bald-headed sexy (although I won't.)
What about Jimbo? J? Jaime? Jaimito? ...:^0
Screw Jane Fonda!!!
What's a Jamito? Like a gelato and a burrito?
Jerry, sometimes I don't know about you dude...LOL Jaimito is actually basically just like Jimmy but in Spanish. It's the diminutive of James.
Screw Jane Fonda!!!
