Being a catcher I've always been a huge Stacy Nuveman fan. And she will be returning to the team after taking time off to start a family which is exciting.
But I'm gonna say that Tairia Flowers is my favorite right now. I got to see her play during the 2007 World Cup of Softball... she was on fire and had a ton of huge hits!!
(sweet pic, btw!)
I first saw Cat Osterman pitch for Texas a couple years ago. She was a phenomenal pitcher then and continues to be one of the best, if not the best, pitcher to date.
As a member of the USA Softball Team, Cat was a major player in big games including the championship games at both the 2006 World Championships and 2006 and 2007 World Cup. I am thrilled to see her play for the 2008 USA Softball Women's National Team. Can't wait!!
Monica Abbot. She's the most dominant pitcher, just take a look at all her NCAA records and stats. She put up better numbers than any pitcher in the nation. Ever.
I agree with you Katty. Jennie is my favorite player too. She has done so much for the game and getting it recognized. I'm really looking forward to watching her play in Beijing. August is going to be here before you know it!
I love Jessica Mendoza's swing. I think it's one of the sweetest swings on the team.
But overall, my favorite player is Natasha Watley. I think she is the most athletic, has the broadest skill set and is the total package. Being a middle infielder my entire life, I admire the prowess she possesses with her glove. But I also really like the versatility she brings to the plate; she really can do it all.
I would have to go with Vicki Galindo. Not just because she went to Cal-- go Bears!-- but because she worked really hard to transform herself from a utility player into a real slugging threat. ( super nice girl as well. Very easy to interview.)
