Two of my favorites are Pat Benatar "We Belong" and "Shadows of the Night" It just seems to get me going, which is weird cause I usually listen to rap.
ha ha. ![]()
i like "dont stop me now" by queen, and of course "we are the champions" and "another one bites the dust" by queen
also "black betty" by ram jam has the best beat ever
i also love to run to "i got soul" by the killers, i think the real name of the song is "all these things that i have done" or something like that
Hells Bells by AC/DC... If you time it right and start it at the tail end of your warm up, just as your looking to poor on some speed it works pretty well
Enjoy.
I have a lot of randoms that get me going on my ipod, but my favorites right now are
Stronger, Kanye West
I drove all night, Celine dion
U and Ur hand, pink
she's a maniac, what a feeling (not sure of the artists, both from flashdance)
For me.. A couple different genres
1. Guns and roses: Out to get me. Makes it feel like someone is chasing you down ![]()
2. Rodney Atkins: These are my people. I like this song because it makes my training runs feel closer to the marathon run itself. Picture in your head all the people cheering you on. Works great!!
3. And of course..Last but not least... Survivor: Burning heart.
Good Stuff. It worked and made me replay the song a few times over !!
My favorite album to run to is Tiësto -Parade of the Athletes - that he put together for the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens . It's old school techno. Great stuff to run to, especially tempo training.
FUEL by Metallica! I don't have an ipod yet, I'm a newbie runner and I'm hoping to get one for mother's day. Anything by Metallica pumps me up. I started singing Fuel at the last 5 min stretch of my run (doing the couch to 5k plan) and it got me sprinting!
Good luck!
Robin
"Runaway" by Bon Jovi is a jammin tune with a good running pace! Sometimes I like Free Bird live version just because it is so long (15 min.) starts slow but it jams for a long time. "Fool for the City" live version by Foghat is another jammer along with "Too Much Thinking" by Triumph on the Never Surrender album. Styx has some great tunes, "Blue Collar Man" and "Suite Madame Blue". Basically classic rock is my theme!
Eye of the Tiger - who doesn't like feeling like Rocky during a run?!
Just about anything by Van Halen (even "Ice Cream Man"), all the way up to "Right Now" by Van Hagar.
"Southbound" - Allman Brothers - from 'An Evening With The Allman Brothers'
"You Don't Love Me" and "Back Where It All Begins" - Allman Brothers - from 'An Evening With The Allman Brothers: Second Set'
"Big Railroad Blues" and "Big River" - Grateful Dead
"Green Grass and High Tides" - The Outlaws
"Surprise Valley" - Widespread Panic
"Tumblin" - Bobby Lee Rodgers and the Codetalkers
The Anthem by Pitbull (feat. Lil Jon) this really gets me going when I'm running. And also another song by Pitbull (Culo) although it has a bad title it seems to always get me going too. I pretty much listen to ANY Reggeaton songs when running.
Any good albums in particular !! I hate hitting my ipod and searching for a song while I'm in the middle of running.
