I've never seen that drill or tool used to help hit the riseball. In my opinion, it is the hardest pitch to hit. The most important thing to remember when going after a rise is to keep your leading elbow above your hands throughout the plane of the swing. That way you can kind of stay above the ball and hit it back out with some power. As soon as your lead elbow drops, the plane of your bat will then be more appropriate for pitches lower in the strike zone.
