Organizing a 5k in my town

All-

I am wondering what steps I should take- or how to start to organize a run/walk 5k in my town. By nature and profession I am a project manager- so managing the tasks will not be difficult- i am just not too sure where to start. I did a Run/Walk for Moms on Mothers Day and thought that was a great idea- and i would like to do something like that in my town- which raises money to donate towards Breast Cancer research (whether Susan G. Coleman- or the like) but I am looking for advice on this feat. Interested in your thoughts!

Re: Organizing a 5k in my town

I was wondering the same thing! My town is small and does not have an organized 5K. I was thinking of approaching the Fire Dept. as a fund raiser......but need to put together a proposal first. Please post any info you find.

And just to let you know...it's Susan G Komen. I've done a few fundraisers myself for Breast Cancer. It is the cause of choice that I donate the most to! (And was my very first 5k!!)

Let me know what you find. Thanks!
