Photograph by Nickelback is great for some reason.  The whole album is pretty darn good.  I also like Creed "Higher"

Going the Distance (by Cake) - should be on every runner's iPod, especially the marathoners!  It's good when you're in that long run trance.

But for high-energy-make-you-want-to-rip-something-up music, I favor Bulls on Parade by Rage Against the Machine or Rollin' by Limp Bizkit (provided you don't mind dirty language - they drop the f-bomb like there's no tomorrow)

I"m not sure the type of music you like but what gets me through my walks is very upbeat music. Punk rock a great band Rancid and I love listening to hip hop when I'm walking.

If you're into metal any of the In Flames albums help me out.  In particular, "Used and Abused:  In Live We Trust."  I like to listen to 30 Seconds to Mars and Blink-182 too.

I like "Where Are We Runnin'" By Lenny Kravitz when I need to get pumped up.  Some other good ones for me...

"Run to You" by Bryan Adams

"Where Your Heart Stops Beating" by +44

"No Surrender" by Bruce Springstein.

"Don't Bring Me Down" by ELO

I'm not a huge fan generally, but after my shuffle landed on it, the Red Hot Chili Peppers are really kickin' for a run. Even the slower songs have a strong beat to keep you going.

Don't forget to make a running playlist for your mp3 player so you don't have to keep flipping through songs!

I have to agree with kloud9....anything by Van Halen....the Diver Down album will start with a good warm up....pace you through the workout....and let you cool down...  Also, the Black Crowes...Shake your money maker cd is great.      For different genres....try Pat Green.....Todd Agnew... Grant Sparks.... Creed... ACDC... Hannah Montana..

Try  " If you want Blood" by AC/DC. For the most part, a lot of AC/DC songs are great or running...

I'm with jillymarie on this one, lots of punk and metal get me going and of course some cake thrown in there with various other random songs from growing up.

I would recommend Godsmacks first album.  Maybe not all in a row but definitely every song will keep you motivated.

Hi - I just have to give my input here - because today, on my Sunday morning run, the song that kicked me in gear, after putting in 4 miles already, was "the Pretender" by the foofighters - i couldn't believe how awesome that was!   I totally enjoyed it!  Try it - I guarantee it will get you down the road faster!  ; )  L
