Love/Hate Relationship with Running

So, I don't know if you have seen the new New Balance commercial, but it talks about the committment running demands of it's followers.  What is your love/hate relationship with running?

I love how I feel after I run.  It doesn't have to be a race.  Just finishing a run makes me feel good.

I love being able to go into work and say " On my run this morning I........."

I hate getting out of bed at 5:30 in the morning.

I really don't enjoy cold weather running at all.

I love running on 60 degree sunny days.

I love running when one of my favorite running songs starts playing on my ipod.

I hate running in January in Michigan, when the wind burns your face and the best part of the run is the hot shower when you get back home.

Re: Love/Hate Relationship with Running

I actually don't have a TV so I haven't seen the commercial.  Funny the only thing I ever wish I could watch are the commercials I hear about

Anyway....

I love the sense of accomplishment after a tough run.

I love watching myself get faster and go farther than I ever thought I could.

I love the look on my ones friends face when she asks how far I've run.

I hate the Georgia summer heat.

I hate the smell of my laundry these days.

Re: Love/Hate Relationship with Running

Boy is this the thread for me...

I love how I feel after a run, accomplished and like my lungs can take in twice as much air as they could before the run.

I love what it's doing for my calves and butt.

I love that it's free aside from the shoes and that I can do it anywhere, anytime.  For someone without much discipline this is a help.

I hate feeling discouraged for going so slowly.

I hate fighting my failure demons when it gets hard.

I love triumphing over my failure demons when my alarm goes off to tell me the run is finished

Re: Love/Hate Relationship with Running

This is a fun thread.  Now let me try...

I love being able to finish a run without taking a walk break.

I hate feeling like I'll never catch my breath.

I love the surprise in people's voices when they hear that I've run a race.

I hate getting running advice from people who have never run in their lives.

I love the way my legs look now.

I hate the way my legs HURT now.

Re: Love/Hate Relationship with Running

I haven't seen the commerical either since we don't have TV but here is my love/hate list.

I love being able to say that I got my run done for the day.

I hate when I wait til the end of the day to try to run and then don't get to for some reason.  (Usually this is just pure laziness on my part!)

I love being able to say I made it though my run without any extra walking times.

I hate side stitches!

I love the fact that my son thinks it is cool that I am training to do a 5K.

I hate running in the middle of the day in the heat.  (Not that it gets that hot right now but cool mornings are better!)

I love the fact I can run for 5 or 8 or 20 minutes and don't think I am going to die!

I love telling people that I run.

I love finishing a 5K.

I hate that it's hard for me to run outside.

I hate that I have yet to feel that runner's high...I think it might be a lie

I love that eventually my legs won't look so yucky.

Re: Love/Hate Relationship with Running

Hello, fellow runners!

I hate that I didn't run all winter due to the cold and bad roads.

I love that I've finally 'got back on that old bicycle' and am putting the miles under my shoes.

I hate that I can't run without walking again  for portions.

I love that I realize it will take some time for my body to adjust back to form......maybe I won't get injured if I'm smart enough about it!

I hate the look of my legs and butt since I quit running last fall.

I love the anticipation of a healthier, leaner body once again!
