Good morning everyone! I did a 30 min (2.58mi) run this morning. Nice and easy, my legs felt really good, definitely getting ready for the race on Sunday.
Joe, I'll find out how tough I am on Sunday...LOL.
Misswendy, Good job of getting in your miles before the storms! I re-read Marilyn's report. That's enough to get ME motivated! Thanks for posting the link!
Allicia, anyone that's lost the weight you have can brag with us anyway! And we all have days we don't want to get out and run. It's great of your mom to be your ‘incentive'.
Spicegeek, way to go on your 4 miles! Great news that your headphone issue is resolved. AND no more news about the hip! Does that mean it's ‘playing nice'?
Actually, I got my weather from Cara, although I'm happy to share it. Cara was so selfless she gave her good weather up. HOORAY for Cara. LOL
GLBryan, welcome and congratulations on finishing C25K. ‘Realistically' depends on how much walking you want to do during your half. If you don't mind running/walking, you could probably do a half now. If you want to run the entire 13.1 miles, you may want to get your long run up to around 10 or 11 miles. I see you are currently in HH Spring Training. That maxes out at 6 miles for a long run.
Conservatively speaking if you continued that training schedule adding 1 mile per week to the Sunday long run, it would take you another 4 weeks, plus a week or 2 of taper would put you around mid October for a half. Of course that is only if nothing comes along to sabotage your training, such as; injury, illness, family emergency. Good luck
Spicegeek, "Don't be afraid to slow down on your long runs, you'll last longer" Amen!
Andahuff, excellent xtraining! Didn't I hear a wise saying... a pushup a day will keep the doctor away...LOL Like this?

They aren't pushups but they do look real hard!
Cara, Good job on getting your work in around your runs! LOL OOOHHH yeah, nice and easy is the goal, ‘til Sunday that is... Yes I'm starting to get a little anxious. I know I've got the fitness and training down, I'm just wrestling with time goals now. I'd like to finish in less than 2:30:00 but how much less? Can I make 2:20:00? Or does that make me have to start out too fast and I lose all my energy in the end?
GLBryan, I don't know where you are from but how well are you going to be able to train in August anyway? It's usually the hottest time of the year. The worst case scenario, in my opinion, would be no training at all in those 3 weeks, I wouldn't think it would set you back more than a week (1 month total).
Joe, That's GREAT news. I'm glad you were able to get through the 20 minutes with no knee problems. I hope tomorrow is as good.
Spicegeek, YOU? A REST day? Ohhh, another bubble burst...
Runjr, great job on the speedwork! See, the slower runs give you more energy on the hard days! Thanks for the encouragement.
Misswendy, Heismann Pose? OMG! I'll have to practice that! I think I'd fall over. LOL DD#2-3 and I are leaving this afternoon for a hotel in GB. I've definitely been eating well. Focussing today and tomorrow on carbs, been focusing all week on water. I'll be wearing my hydration belt on Sunday, and my Garmin. The weather, on Sunday, will be almost exactly like last Saturday when I did a 12 mile run.
Andahuff,
>>I am loving it. That is why it is hard for me to do a cut-back week. I haven't not felt like running for one second since I started.<<
Yeah, but you do know that it is good to give your muscles a break to recover, right?
I think the only mist I will feel on Sunday will be coming off all the runners passing me. LOL
Joe, thanks! I plan on getting the good sleep tonight. Actually I've been getting a good night's sleep each night this week. You're right. Sat. night may be tough.
Runjr, good luck on your ‘easy' run today!
Well time to get back to work! Good to everyone with their runs today!
