I just got off the phone with Jimmy and we're meeting up tonight at the Dean Karnazes UltraMarathon Man Endurance 50 movie!
Have fun Toby! Jimmy is very comfortable in his manhood, you know.
Tell him we all said HI!
We've come this far and it's still the same,
Runnin' out here in the rain.
Just one more mile, if only you could fly.
(Apologies to T. Rush and J. Tempchin, for the paraphrase)
LOL. He is also pretty easy to pick out of a crowd. I spotted him at 50 yards across the parking lot!
Have fun Toby! Jimmy is very comfortable in his manhood, you know.
PWAHAHAHAHA! Nice, Lee. (Non CMM-goers, this was said about 500 times over the weekend, usually in reference to sharing a bathroom and a hotel room with Jerry.)
Wait, we might have a meeting of the minds here--but do fish tacos go with Shiner?

Thanks for clarifying, I was thinking, hmm, I didn't think tonight was a "date" date haha
Toby,
Not to worry I am comfortable in my manhood. I am also the youngest of 7 which was said a bunch while there as well. I think most of the ladies on this forum are just jealous because I am going to be the first to meet "Toby". I am ready to see the flick and get the weekend started. I will see you in a few hours.

I hope you're wearing that lacy Steelers thingie, and then Toby will know how comfortable you are in your manhood. Say hello to Toby for me.
Wow, what a great show. Toby was cool people and maybe I will get to hang out with him again when I can chat some more. We were in a room with some truly amazing athletes and I felt like just a small fry amongst big potatoes. We took a picture that I am sure Toby will be posting soon. He will be running a 100 mile race a week from Saturday and I wish him the best of luck.
The movie was amazing and different from the Spirit of the Marathon. It will be released for a 1 time showing in theaters on July 31st. Mark your calendars and read the book. Dean has some of the largest calves I have seen in sometime. He is a humble runner with great stamina. I want to be like him.

I'll bet you guys had a great time. Thanks for the movie clip, Toby. The 31st is on my calendar and the book has been ordered! I love the comments from the kids. I'll bet the ones who started that race will remember it for a long time to come.
It was great meeting Jimmy last night and he's right, the show is fantastic. Dean is truly inspirational and his values of inclusion of others and the promotion of health and fitness on a national scale make him a hero in my eyes. You'll see from the movie that he has a growing number of loyal followers who have been inspired. The best part is the film has been selected for national syndication. I know all of you will enjoy it very much and you should watch it.
Dean ran from Sonoma to San Diego for the movie premier, traveling the coast from Mission to Mission along the way to raise awareness for their delapatated condition. He covered 700 miles in a week and a half and he's running the San Diego RnR Marathon this Sunday. Next week, hes' off to run across the Gobi Desert as he attempts the 2nd race in the Desert Grand Slam Series . Dean keep's a blog on runner's world that gets a little bit more attention than mine but maybe one day I'll get some comments like he does ![]()
Here's a shot of Jimmy and I after the film--and no we didn't run there like some of the folks:
Best of luck to Jimmy on Sunday at the marathon. I'll be out there taking pictures and video so hopefully I'll catch him in action. Have a great weekend everyone!
Toby,
Hey I am thinking that Sunday afternoon I might need to go grab a beer somewhere and maybe bring Jesu and Lola out to play. If you are up for that let me know and we can all try and meet up somewhere. He is down in Chula Vista and I am near La Mesa. Anyway you have the number and so does Jesus.

Jimmy,
Sunday I'm playing chauffeur, super-fan and photgrapher for my friends who are running the marathon to help repay my debt for their support next weekend as my crew team at SD100. After the race, I need to fit in a 9-mile run and then my girlfriend's father is in town and we're all going out to dinner. I'm pretty sure I'm not going to have any spare time, plus I can't drink beer until after my race next weekend... no fun, I know, but look for me on the east side of 6th street, on the little bridge above the band when your heading south on Park blvd. and then on the west side of the 163 (you'll be running north in the southbound lane). I'll also be down at the finish line but its probably going to be crazy down there. Anyways, have a kick a$$ race!!!
You to Toby. I just thought I would offer. I might be back next year for the San Diego 100 who knows. I think I will get intot he ultra junkie mode soon enough. Just spent some time on your blog. Your training is very impressive. I am going to make soem rocket fue; for the week. The Mango salmon will be for dinner tomorrow. I planned on salmon and potatoes but might switch to some brown rice.

Rocket Fuel keeps the engine burning strong for surelet me know how it turns out! The salmon is such a treat, I need to make that again soonnext week for sure.
