I will be in DC visiting a friend June 26-29 and would love to meet any of you that are in the area!

What a coincidence! I don't live in the DC area, but I will be there for a conference from June 28 - July 2. I will be in meetings from 7am-6pm (ugh!) and then attending a reception in the evening on the 28th but could definitely plan something for the 29th!

Hey! I'm at the same conference as Curly... can I join? And Jen, where did you find that trail race? It sounds like it was so much fun!

Of course you can join us!! Now we just have to figure out a good place to eat! This trail race was called the Buffalo Stampede and you had a choice of 5, 15, or 20 miles. It was run in conjunction with the Dash for Cash, a mountain bike race. I chose the 5 mile since I've never done an official trail race before. It was so hot but soooo fun!! There are others coming up, so I'll let you know when I hear something. It was fun to watch the mountain bikers too. They were a bit intimidating and it made me second guess my choice to do the tri in august that includes a mountain biking segment. There was a bbq, music, and lots of fun afterwards too, but I didn't get to stay for that because of my family...grrrr! Running in the creek beds at Schenley adequately prepared me for the technical difficulty of the course.

What it is a conference for?

Research Society on Alcoholism. I am also attending the day long meeting on the 28th for the Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders Study Group. I probably sound like a nerd right now eh? I embrace my lab coat!!

I've never been to DC so I'm clueless where any good places to eat are! Where are both of you staying for the conference?

We need the DC people to chime in and suggest a place to go...and join us!!

I'm staying at the Grand Hyatt, 1000 H Street NW. I am not sure where Kat is staying?

Re: Throwing this out there....

I'm staying at the Hilton like two blocks away but if we're doing lunch both Jen and I will both be coming from the conference which is based at the Hyatt.
