The calendar, stupid!

The 7-day week has its roots in Asia as well as in the Christian bible.

It was introduced to the Romans by Persian astrologists.

There was one day for each of the known planets, one for the sun and one for the moon as in Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

The 7 day week was widely used outside of countries that followed Judeo-Christian religions.

We made it up that way. We could have 15 day weeks or no weeks at all. This was just what the collective world brain came up with to agree upon. I think there are remote places, though, where if you said 'week,' you'd get a 'What you talkin' bout, Willis?' look as a response.

I think we should switch to an 8-day week with 3-day weekends. What do y'all think?

Not true. Each moon phase last 7 days. There are 28 days in a lunar month.

yeah, but I'm saying it could be based on anything. It doesn't really matter.
