It's too HOT- suggestions?

I'm in N. Texas, temps around 100. I don't get up earlier than I have to, and I'm usually not home until near or after dark. No club membership, no equipment at home. At moderate times in the year I walk at lunchtime, but it's dangerously hot, I overheat easily, and my fair skin burns in about 5 minutes- 15 minutes with sunscreen because I sweat it off. Any suggestions? (I'm working up to a 6-mile walk Nov. 1, 2008, but not doing too well right now.)
I so understand - I live in Houston where it is hot and humid. I walk in the early mornings. I hate getting out of bed early but once I am walking, I am ok. You might want to think about a treadmill - go to a resale shop or check craigslist.com to find one cheap. Sorry this isn't the magic answer you were probably looking for.
I hadn't even thought about resale or Craig's list for equipment- great idea! Thanks!
What about Mall walking? Especially in the morning or later in the evening when they aren't busy. Or you could find a nice tall office building and climb the stairwells.

That's a great suggestion!
If you do venture outside, there are products like under armor have built in sun protection. Look for UPF ratings

Excellent ideas! There's a mall not too far from my office, and I could take the stairs there as well. Also when I need to shop, I'll look for under armor!
