Rock & Roll VA Beach Half Marathon Weather

OK, right now they're calling for a 40% chance of isolated thunderstorms. Whatever that means. In my experience, 40% usually means "probably." Morning temps will be in the high 60's. Humidity in the 70-80% range. Only a 20% chance of overnight precipitation so that bodes well..

Of course that's all guaranteed to change and won't be very reliable until about 48 hours out.

Obsessed with running and racing. It's all about the bling, baby! Suck it up and RUN!

I'm half tempted to come cheer for you guys if I can get out of work this weekend. I've been looking for an excuse to hit the beach all summer and have yet to do it! Either way. Good Luck everyone!

BEWARE the guys handing out beer at a water station around the 3.5 mile part. OK, that was during the Shamrock 1/2. But the weather at race start was awful though the morning turned out great.

For those driving -- hedge against gas prices now. Prices are slated to rise about 15-20 cents per gallon -- or more in 2 or 3 days. Today's wholesale price spiked 10 cents alone. All because of Gustav in the Gulf.

RunnerWags -- you were reading my mind. Any excuse to raise gas prices and it'll happen. My car can make it to VA Beach and back on a single tank but not with all the extra driving. So I may bring my truck which has a 37 gallon tank. It's nearly full on $3.29 gas.

I think we'll be OK. Overnight temps won't be great for HM PRs but what the heck... it will just be one big party.

Weather.com shows an overnight low of 70 with a high on Sunday of 81 and a 30% chance of isolated thunderstorms. Max humidity is 73% though so that's a plus!
