Great report and better comeback! Well done!
Good race Jay and a good report. Looks like you're back on track.
We've come this far and it's still the same,
Runnin' out here in the rain.
Just one more mile, if only you could fly.
(Apologies to T. Rush and J. Tempchin, for the paraphrase)
Congratulations on a great comeback and for having the restraint and sense to hold back. That's all very impressive! Funny, I ran this race last year and it was chilly enough I wore a long-sleeved shirt through the whole thing. Was thinking about you runners yesterday in the humidity! We also were treated to non-functioning metro escalators and had to trudge down that huge "staircase" after running 13.1. Hopefully, they didn't subject you to that again this year!
Great Report!
An amazing time, Jay! Congratulations on the top 1.5% finish!
Jay,
Yea great job, Awesome place!!!!!!!!
Jay, You are amazing! What a performance coming off of an injury! Congratulations!
Jay, happy to see you're back in the running.
Great job and I'll bet a full one coming up shortly. Your time, awesome, just something I can only dream about.
Awesome race!! Congrats and welcome back!
Thanks everybody! It feels good to be back even if I'm not yet at full strength. I really under-estimated the half-marathon distance: my legs are trashed and I've got some pretty horrendous blisters on my heels (that's what happens when your socks are completely waterlogged halfway through the race). Hopefully I can bounce back soon so that I can get in some decent training before Baltimore on October 11. I'm running out of time to put in any long runs with less than 4 weeks to go. Since I haven't really built up my mileage, I'm not sure how I'm going to taper.
You'll taper fast and furious. Good luck and do take care of yourself.
