This is my latest nuisance - my mouth and throat get very dry and I mistake this for thirst. I drink a bunch of water, but then have to make frequent pit stops because I am over hydrated.
Does anyone know how to overcome the dry mouth and throat (I add throat because that's what makes me swallow the water rather than just swishing)?
I have worked on breathing properly, but my mouth and throat still dry out.
I was going to ask the same thing Sally. Other than the meds, a way to deal with dry mouth while running is chewing gum. I know, many say don't even chew gum while exercising due to the risk of sucking it down you throat, but it does help with this issue.
Yes, I do take some of that stuff - allergy pills especially.
But, I don't think I could stop. The trade off of having itchy eyes and sneezing isn't worth it.
That's probably what it is. Good call.
I will try some different things including gum, and hopefully some little tweaks will help.
Thank you for the feedback!
