Ford Ironman World Championships-Kona Baby!

My wish is that all triathletes young and old one day get to experience the greatest event on earth.  The Big Island is a special place that permeates every part of your soul when you are standing on its hallowed lava.

 

So give me your thoughts on who you think will win this year and why.  And if you have ever been there what lasting impressions did the event and the island have on you?

 

I can't wait to get there and even after 20 years each still seems like my first.

    Though only having been to Kona once, one of my favorite memories is seeing how excited the fans were. Kids, spouses, parents, friends, tri-fanatics...they all seemed to be having as amazing a time as the athletes. And the atmosphere as the clock nears midnight is unbeatable.
