Weather Forecast for Baltimore

As my grandfather used to say, "There will be weather whether or not". Looks like it might be overcast and maybe some light rain, 58 at the start, up to 70 for us late-finishers. High humidity, but otherwise not bad.

Re: Weather Forecast for Baltimore

This morning was amazing: barely over 40 degrees at 8 am.  It looks to be a bit warmer and more humid on race day.

I'd rather have more hills than humidity.

Re: Weather Forecast for Baltimore

My (slight) concern is the rain.  You see, I have only had a few runs that had a little bit of rain.  It just didn't rain here on long run days this training cycle.  So while I have run in rain (including a 7 mile downpour a few weeks ago), I have not done a 20 (or 18 or 16 for that matter) miler in rain and I worry about how my feet will do for 26.2 miles if it does rain.          Ok I am not panicing.  This is just a mild taper induced concern.....right.   Alright--all is well.  I am calm.  No worries.

Though it can still change, the weather guessers are saying a "few showers."  Not bad at all.  The bigger concern for me is the temps that seem to keep going up (now the high is supposed to be 73).  I live near Baltimore and the last few days have been fantastic -- nice and cool.

But we wouldn't be here if we didn't train.  So as long as we stay patient and smart -- we all should do fine.

Re: Weather Forecast for Baltimore

The weather looks to be somewhere around what we likely experienced when we did our last LSDs (that's long slow distance for you Haight-Ashbury types). Dress light & loose... or at least smart. Good rule would be to wear what you would when it is in the 80s. The high temperature will not be reached until likely 2 or so... but the humidity may be a factor.

This is the link I will be relying on.  I love http://www.wunderground.com/.  Zip code for the race start is 21202.  Forecasted 8 AM = 580!

Looks to be 58 when we start and around 70 when we finish.  Humidity appears to be reasonable.  Not the best conditions, but workable.

A reasonably accurate website to watch for Baltimore weather is WBAL television's site.

http://www.wbaltv.com/weather/index.html

They are one of the sponsors of the race, and will be covering the day's activities.

The latest forecast is  a cool 50 ine the morning, but climbing to near 80 by late afternoon.

Take lots of water boys -n- girls!
