Can anyone recommend any hotels that are ok to stay in for the MCM?  Need something within walking distance to the metro!:D

Re: Hotels

Probably nothing this late in the game.  But it's DC, we stayed all the way in Springfield and had no problem at all getting around using public transportation.

Re: Hotels

Can't offer more than that.  I can't imagine you'd find anything close to the start / finish.  Just make sure the hotel really is close to the Metro.  A lot of them say they are but it turns out to be a mile away.  Many also have shuttles to and from Metro but they may not start early enough for the marathon.

Just one more mile, if only you could fly.

Re: Hotels

I am staying at the Marriott Dunn Loring.  As of last week they still had rooms.  I believe it is a little further from the start then some of the other hotels but it was $119 a night and it was directly across the street from a Metro station.  I got scared by some of the messages of people waiting hours trying to get back to Crystal City so I choose to go the other direction and a little furher out.

Re: Hotels

Here is a link to the hotel.

I had purchased a room for myself and 1 for my girlfriend who will no longer be able to make the trip.  When you book with priceline the room is non refundable therefore I am stuck with them.  It looks like the hotel is charging $229 per night for the rooms I paid $85 per night and would just like to get my money back...so that would be $170 to you.  I can accept pay pal an just have them move the room reservation to your name if that works for you.

Re: Hotels

I would also suggest the Marriot at the Dunn Loring metro.  I live in Dunn Loring so I may just stay home - why wouldn't I?  Well, I've got 14 month old twin boys who think its great fun to get up in the middle of the night the night before a long training run, so I don't know why the night before the actual marathon would be any different!

The hotel is a 30 second walk from the metro, and its the Orange line which will take you to Rosslyn.  You then get on the blue line to the Pentagon.  It's about a 30 minute trip, but the metro opens at 5 am.  http://www.wmata.com/tripplanner_d/tripplanner.cfm
