Good morning, everyone.
This will be my first MCM and I am thrilled. I am a barefoot runner and wanted to check if running the MCM barefoot is allowed. I'll attach the ChampionChip to my Road ID ankle band so there won't be any problems concerning timing, etc. Any information would be much appreciated. Thanks!
Best of luck to everyone on Sunday--happy running and have fun!

Wow! I don't think I could make it more than a few hundred yards running in bare feet. It would be hard to imagine not allowing bare foot runners. I am not aware of any rules made by the governing bodies that would prohibit them. They tend to focus on things that might give a runner an advantage. Good luck to you!

Karl's Run For Clean Water
Doing the miles so they don't have to.
I agree with Karl. There are no rules that prevents you from doing this. I ran the Frederick Marathon this past may and there was a guy running barefoot. He was interviewed by a TV newscrew. It was his 243rd marathon and I believed that he said that most of those have been on barefoot.
On a personal note. You guys are crazy ![]()
That is just nuts. How do you guys do that? Have you always ran barefoot? Or is it something you "practice" like start with a couple of hundred feet or something and gradually move up to miles? I'm freaking crying if I walk down to the mailbox and I accidentally step on a pebble...LOL
Screw Jane Fonda!!!
My feet are rough and I wear shoes/socks. I guess you wouldnt get blisters if you ran without socks and shoes. Hm...
There is actually a rule which states: "A competitor may compete in bare feet or with footwear on one or both feet." So bare feet, no problem.
We've come this far and it's still the same,
Runnin' out here in the rain.
Just one more mile, if only you could fly.

No, I remember somebody mentioned that last year but it wasn't me.
